"Well Nick texted me earlier saying to rehearse as normal and he said they'll be a bit longer in Michigan because another sale is happening next week and they want to be there for that," Meredith answered.
"Okay," Joey said. "So what about tomorrow then?"
"No, there's not any rehearsals tomorrow."
"Why not?" Lauren asked.
Meredith tutted. "Because its your birthday, stupid!"
A swear word was heard from Jaime as she grabbed another doughnut and started running out of the flat. "Bye guys, I'm going shopping!"
Everybody laughed as the door slammed shut behind Jaime. "Well," Meredith started. "Expect a New York souvenir from Jaime for your birthday."
"To be honest, " Lauren said. "I'd actually forgotten it was my birthday! I'm getting old..."
"Oh shut up, Lauren," Meredith said.
"You're younger than me!"
"By a year."
"And I'm still a fetus," Joey interrupted.
Lauren laughed. "Exactly Joey."
"Well I'd better head back to the hotel now," Meredith said getting up from the table.
"Well thank you very much for my glorious breakfast, Mere," Lauren said gratefully.
"You're very welcome, Miss Lopez. I'll see you guys at one o'clock later for rehearsals, okay?"
"Yep," Joey said making his coffee.
"Bye guys!"
"Bye Mere," Lauren said as Meredith exited the flat.

"Did someone say Draco Malfooooy?!"
Lauren shouted. Darren burst out laughing and Meredith came onstage and punched his arm."YOU'VE GOT TO STOP LAUGHING AT THAT LINE, HARRY!"
"I'm sorry!" Darren said still smiling. "It's just Lauren's face when she says that line!" he said in stitches of laughter once again.
"Snap out of it, Harry," Joey said. "Or I'll set Voldemort on you."
"I heard my name?!"
"JOE!!" Lauren said jumping off the stage and hugging the figure stood in the doorway. Dylan shrieked jumping up and down on one foot. "OWWW!! ALL I WANTED WAS A COFFEE!!"
"Shuddup, Dumbledore," Joe said hugging Lauren. "So, what have a missed?"
"Well, nothing much really. We were just rehearsing," Meredith said joining the hug. "But we're all really happy you're okay."
"I take my foot," Dylan, Jaime, Darren and Brian sang. "My little foot."
Meredith and Lauren ran over to the others and joined in with their song. "And with that foot!"
"I drop a kettle on it!!" Dylan sang.
"Really guys? Are we really doing this?" Joe asked.
"Awww, we love you really, Joe," Jaime said. Joe rolled his eyes and joined in with their song whilst Darren and Joey nipped to the coffee shop over the road.
"Joey?" Darren said while they were waiting for their coffee.
"Yeah?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah...what is it, Darren?" Joey asked.
Darren took a deep breath and said, "do you think Lauren would want to get back together with me?"
Joey's mind was in turmoil. Darren had just asked whether it was a good idea to ask out the person Joey himself was in love with. He'd always loved Lauren. So, so much. Though he'd never told her in fear of ruining their friendship. The time he had kissed her a few days before was the only indication that he had feelings for her and even then he had denied it. Now one of his best friends was asking him if they should get together with the person he was so madly in love with. What was he supposed to do...?

After handing everybody their coffee, Darren walked up to Lauren. "Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?"
Joey watched as Darren took Lauren to one side and began talking about getting back together. He wished it was him pouring his heart out to Lauren... He couldn't tell exactly what was said, but he got the jist of it. Darren had got what he wanted...good for him...
"Joey? JOEY!?"
Joey was pulled out of his thoughts by Meredith. "You've got your head in the clouds over there...are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah," Joey replied watching Darren and Lauren hugging on the other side of the room. "I'm fine."
