Zhu Li Chen clicks her tongue while killing a faceless creature. This creature can take the form of a desired person of its prey, lure the prey to its den and eat their flesh. Those with lower or no cultivation power at all, fall a victim to it.
Zhu Li Chen is one of the Golden core level Generals of Huo clan at the age of nineteen only. She has a twin brother Zhu Chen, who is also a Golden Core level General. The twin siblings have reached to this level at a monstrous speed, whereas the present king Cheng Sheng reached at the Golden core level at the age of twenty three. They have built an exceptional example of their cultivation and have earned great name and fame across the Three Dragon's Land.
Today Zhu Li Chen has come to the forest of Moon's Shadow in Shui's land, which is widely known as the Dark forest, with a troop of four people including her. The others are Zhang Zhao, Cheng Su and Tian Qiu.
Are they here on the king's order to cease the bridge too?
No, this troop of youngsters has come here to solve their own personal problems.
Cheng Su is in love with a young lady of Meng family named Meng Hua. They have met on the recent mission of wiping out a tribe of black art practitioner. From then on, he is unable to forget this young miss. But alas! His elder brother Cheng Sheng, the king of this Three Dragon's Land, has proposed his marriage to Zhu Li Chen. Zhu Li Chen, who is actually in love with Cheng Sheng, felt so heart broken that she couldn't leave her room for two weeks, crying her eyes out.
Cheng Su tried to refuse this proposal but failed. Then he arranged this troop and set out to bring Meng Hua with him to his clan and marry her.
Among them Tian Qiu is the youngest one and almost became a victim to this faceless creature. So Zhu Li Chen has come and saved him from being the food of a monster.
Zhu Li Chen and others felt the presence of negative aura of more faceless creatures around them. There's a foul stench in the air constantly increasing.
"Ugh! Why did elder brother Cheng Sheng need to raid on Shui clan now?" Zhu Li Chen is annoyed. When they reached Kun's land which was the neighbor of Shui's land, they came to know about the raid. They didn't want to fall in front of other members of Huo clan who were guarding the bridge, so they choose this hectic path through this forest to reach to Meng's residence. "If he had raided few days later, we could have entered the Shui clan easily and abducted Meng Hua by now... When did we reach on this swamp?" She looks at her feet which are submerged under ankle length water.
Suddenly Tian Qiu cries out loudly. "Ah! Something slipped away between my feet. Snake! It must be snake..."
Zhu Li Chen rushes to Tian Qiu following his sound and grabs his collar. Tian Qiu is a lower ranked disciple. He is only sixteen and slow in qi cultivation; he is at qi refining level only. He has come to serve his elder disciple sister Zhu Li Chen and enjoy some adventure. But he didn't know that he will face such a dangerous situation. At this time Cheng Su catches the sight of a long and white slippery body and feels an electric shock.
Blind earth eel!
It must be the den of blind earth eel. Before these low level beasts can attack them in group, they need to move away from here as soon as possible. So Cheng Su shouts, "Li Chen, Zhao, Qiu, it's the blind earth eel's den. Move fast."
But they were already attacked by the eels. They quickly took out their swords and cut the eels that leapt on them. Li Chen quickly rides on her sword holding Tian Qiu and orders others to do so. She is not willing to show her battle power here as the price they have to pay for killing these eels is very high. It will awaken the demonic beasts of this forest and expose their location.
