1.2 - Flicker - Coffee

Start from the beginning

'Come on let's go!' I urge the group.

'Why are you in a hurry all of a sudden?' Sky teases.

'Umm... We're late for work!' I lie but I think they don't buy it.

As Red is driving, I'm looking out the window, following with my eyes, the silver Range Rover I saw Niall get in earlier. But when his car turned left and ours turned right I just yelled out a loud 'No!'.

'What? Would you have preferred it if I followed him?' Red teases.

'No... I'd never do that! It's creepy...'

'Yes. It is. You should've talked to him and get it over with while you still had the chance.' Sky says.

'It's okay, Ivy, I'm sure you'll run into him again, and next time, you'll talk to him okay?' Mels comforts me.

The next day, at lunchtime I tried getting to the group to go back to that coffee shop but only Mels accepted.

'Thank you for coming with me.'

'No problem. But hey, don't keep your hopes up, he might not even be there. But if he is there talk to him this time yeah?'

'We'll see.'

We enter the shop, place our order and wait for it to be done. As soon as we get our drinks, Niall and Tara walk in. I dragged Mels to a table in the back of the shop.

'Go! Say hi! Come on you're not gonna chicken out again!'

'He just came in! At least let's wait till he gets his coffee. I don't want to be rude!'

'You're an idiot. Fine, do what you want, but if you don't talk to him today, I'm not coming with you tomorrow.'

'Fine!' I say then try changing the subject and talk about work.

Niall's POV

'She's here again.' Tara notices.

'Yeah, I saw her walking in.'

'You know she's probably only here for you, right?'

'You don't know that. she probably works nearby.'

'Please! She's been staring at you non-stop since yesterday! She's obviously a fan.'

'If she was a fan she would've come say hi. Ask for a picture or an autograph or something.'

'Maybe she's too shy to approach you.'

'Why would she be shy? I don't bite.'

'Here's your coffee sir.' The barista says.

'Thank you! Have a nice day!' I take the coffee and sit across from her, just one table away. I can't help but stare at her. She has beautiful long brown hair, I bet they're so soft, I just want to run my hands through them. And her eyes are brown, just perfect chocolate brown, although slightly glassy I wonder what's that about. Her smile is one of the first things that caught my attention when I saw her from outside of the coffee shop yesterday. She's so beautiful, I wish I knew more about her, at least her name. I'm trying not to look directly at her because she's looking over every now and then while she's talking to her friend.

'Why don't you go talk to her?'

'I don't want to seem like a narcissistic celebrity that's dying for some attention.'

'Want me to go talk to her for you?'

'What? No! That would be weird!'

'Ivy! You're not even listening to me!' I heard her friend shout. That must be her name! Her name is Ivy! What a beautiful name! It suits her. No! Where are they going! You can't leave just yet! Oh, they're just switching places. She doesn't seem too happy about it! Neither am I, to be honest, I can't see her anymore, she has her back turned.

'I can try to find information about her if you want. Remember the guys she was with yesterday?'

'Yeah... Do you think she's dating one of them? It didn't look that way though.' I asked her.

'I don't know, but the guy with the bun and the beard? I saw him a few months ago in an event. He has a blog and a YouTube channel that he runs with his friends. They talk about Sci-fi movies and series and stuff like that. Maybe she works there?'

'Do you know what's it called?'

'I have his card somewhere at home I'll look for it tonight and send you a link to their page.'

'Thank you!'

'We're running late, we have to be at the studio in 10 minutes let's go!'

I took one look at her from the door of the shop before I walked away for now. But I'll be back, tomorrow, same time, same place. I don't know what's going on. I'm never like this. I just can't stop thinking about her, but I don't have the guts to go talk to her. But for now, I'll settle with just looking at her.
