Chapter 8 - I CAN'T DO THIS...!

Sure Steph isn't one of those sitting behind the desk kind of boss as his the kind that loves to get his hands dirty, hence the reason why his the most feared boss but when it comes down to dealings, he deals with the bosses, where as I deal with the men that actually keeps the bosses alive and keep them in their positions and that takes out any threats that might come in their way.

It's going to be fucking easy to pick up the phone and call them all in as everyone would love to work for us whether it be privates or those already affiliated with other Mafia families, everyone wants to get in as they all know how we roll, so Steph might think that I've excepted whatever lies ahead for him but fuck if I gave up on him, that'll never happened, I will take care of his family while his out there, but I will also make sure that his taken care of WHEREVER THE FUCK HE GOES... AND THAT'S FOR DAMN SURE!!!

With that positive thought in mind, and a plan of action ready to be set in place, I walked out of the office, emotional moment long forgotten and walked up the stairs to where I know I will find my sister as I can only imagine what a mess she must be in right now and I can't have her stressing because that would automatically stress Steph out and he really needs to focus now, more than ever before, because one mistake can cost him and everyone I love, their lives and I cannot have that, I cannot have her in tears, she means a lot to me but she means the world to my brother and I gave him my word to be there for her, while his out there doing what he does best to protect his family.

"Kiara" I said opening the door, after knocking on the door a few times and getting no answer. And when she came into view, I saw her standing by the window, in her own world, I don't even think she heard me. "Kiara honey, are you okay?!" I asked a little bit louder to catch her attention and it did as she spun around fast and I noticed the tears running down her face, it broke my heart.

"Jesus Dante! You scared me!" She says but I could hear in her voice how broken she is.

"I'm sorry love, I knocked and Called out your name and you didn't hear me so I came in to check if you're okay" I said and she quickly wipes her tears away but her eyes was still full of unshed tears.

"Yeah I'm fine, I'm Sorry I didn't hear you, what can I do for you?" She asked almost like she's talking to some telemarketer or some shit, that's so not like her.

"Nothing, I just came to check on you is all. Steph asked me to come by and see if you were okay" I said to her and the second I mentioned Steph's name, her face changed and her lips started quivering, shit! I shouldn't have said that, without waiting I grabbed her hand and pulled her in for a hug and held onto her, tightly.

"I know what you are thinking, believe me I thought the same but you know he'll be back. His like the Phoenix, he will ALWAYS raise again. He'll be back for you, that I can promise you" I said while holding onto her tightly as she sobbed but she pushed away from me the second I finished what I had just promised.

"Don't be like him! Don't promise shit you can't keep!" She says through her sobbing and I shook my head at her.

"When has Steph ever broken a promise he made to you? And I am his brother, we are men that keep our word and Kiara I won't lie to you. I want to tell you the truth, which I'm sure he kept from you to protect you but I will only do that if you quit this damn crying right now!" I said and she rolls her eyes at me but still bit her lip in order to stop herself from crying anymore, one of the things Steph said she loves to do when she's nervous or have other kind of feelings, I do not care to voice out loud in my head.
