After giving the King a peck, Edgar stood up and headed to the door, where he was to stand and take watch. He didn't often need sleep because he was an insomniac, which was why he was chosen to be the king's guard. Not only because of his skilled fighting abilities, but also because he could be on watch 24/7.
There were a few nights where he would take a break and let another guard watch the king while he took needed rest- but on those nights he would stress about the king's wellbeing and he'd end up staying up most of the night anyway.
If only he could sleep with the king, so that he could both sleep and watch over him at the same time.
In your dreams, Edgar thought to himself, as he shut the door behind him.
Little did he know, as soon as the door closed, the king opened his eyes and smiled to himself.
He had felt every peck on the forehead Edgar had given him.
And that morning was no exception.

David woke up, snuggled into a warm chest and wrapped inside two warm arms. Happiness bloomed inside of his heart as he opened his eyes and stared up at Nathan's big, captivating smile that he loved so much. Nathan, lying on his side, was watching him unbelievingly from beside him, smiling like his dream came true.
The young king looked down at his sleepy, cute, blushing soulmate with those beautiful mystic eyes and amazingly soft skin. He wanted to kiss him until he was littered with love bites, but he refrained himself. Both he and David were new to this and he felt the need to take it slow. But...they did already kiss.
What's the hurt in doing it again?
Nathan leaned down happily and captured his soulmate's lips in a loving, longing kiss. Half-asleep, David let him, basking in the love radiating from Nathan's whole being. Nathan noticed that this kiss was sweeter and a lot cleaner than yesterday's, but both kisses were equally special. All kisses with his soulmate were special in his mind. He tightened his grip around David, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss a little bit. David pulled back and smiled.
Nathan rested his forehead against David's with his eyes still closed. His lips were pursed as if he was trying the taste of David on them. Suddenly, Nathan smiled and opened his eyes, looking into David's like his whole world was lit up brighter than it was before.
"Now that I have you, I can't wait to do everything with you," Nathan smiled, "I can't wait to wake up every morning and kiss you. I can't wait to hold you and protect you," Nathan gave him another peck on the lips, "And I can't wait to show you to the rest of my kingdom."
David was blushing, but he loved the idea of spending his life that way.
"Speaking of which," Nathan continued, pulling him even closer somehow, "I was thinking of going back to my kingdom after the war is over...would you- um- like to come with me? I mean, I know you're the guardian of the forest in this kingdom and all, but I would love for you to live with me."
"Of course," David smiled, "We're um-soulmates right? I was expecting we would live together at some point. I mean, Jake and Derrick do."
Nathan smiled and nodded, "I'm glad. It will be easier that way...I just wasn't sure-"
"If I was ready for it yet?" David questioned cutely, "Trust me, I've seen some stuff in my lifetime. I'm sure I can handle you."
"Was that an insult or a compliment?" Nathan chuckled.
"It's whatever you want it to be," David shrugged, but his arms were a little constricted by Nathan's big arms.
They decided that, by sleeping next to each other, they would not have to deal with the pain of being separated in the morning, and now David never wanted to sleep alone again.
Surrounded by his soulmate's arms, scent, and warmth was the perfect way to wake up.
And now that he thought of it, Nathan did smell like clean laundry, but he also smelled of sweet almonds and fresh air- whatever fresh air smelled like.
"We should get up for breakfast," Nathan hmmed, taking a hand and brushing David's hair out of his face.
"Hmm five more minutes," David smiled and snuggled into Nathan's chest for warmth. Nathan thought his heart was going to burst with joy from David's action.
Let's just say they stayed that way for more than five minutes.

OKAY. I KNOW THAT WAS A TONNNN SHORTER THAN WHAT I USUALLY DO BUT I WANTED TO UPDATE WHILE I WAS ON MY TRIP. And this was the only time I could update.
I'm sorry if it is bad, I haven't re-read it or edited it so I don't know what it sounds like all together. I might go back and add some more to it later on but now, I'm just not into it.
