I really hoped that there weren't any bad creatures nearby. But as far as I could make out the voices didn't sound terrifying at all, but you could never know.
Only a few feet away, behind a rock were fourteen really short men and a tall man with a pointy hat on his head and a long gray beard. ' Maybe they can help me' I thought to myself. Finally having a little luck after hours of wandering around, not knowing what might happen and what is going on.
So I climbed back down and slowly tip toed towards the fireplace. The short men were telling a story and I found myself listening to the story, yet the men still didn't seem to notice me standing behind a rock.
The story was about a prince and a volk who had lost their home, run down and destroyed by a dragon? Wait a dragon? Such a creature doesn't exist. It's just fictional, a legend, nothing more? Am I Right?
I felt my knees began to get buckle and a nauseous feeling in the pit of my stomach. That wasn't good at all. Well back to the story I guess. This prince seemed like a real King, a king I actually would be willing to follow.
He obviously had faced death about a hundred times and survived and found a place for his volk to live at. A real warrior with a good heart I might say and I found myself wanting to go with them and help them get back their home, after finding a way back to my home.
But is it possible to switch between worlds? A fictional world and a real world? Or did this world exist and we didn't know of? I mean this place seems so familiar to me. Like if I had seen it before, somewhere.
' I think I should show myself and make myself noticeable ' I thought to myself. And that's what I am going to do. I stepped forward out of the shadows and coughed a little to get their attention.
Everyone turned around, with their weapons drawn, ready to defend themselves. With weak knees I went to the fireplace so they could see me, with my hands raised, showing them that I don't need any harm towards them.
The tall man took his weapon down first, a smirk appearing on his face. He also seemed familiar to me but I couldn't make out from where I could know him. Then one by one took down their weapon until only one person still had raised his sword, pointed at me.
He was taller than the other men, had long dark brown hair with gray streaks. He looked quite handsome. But the tall man with the pointy head came forwards and to my rescue. He soothed the man down.
I gave him a small smile before introducing myself. " Hello my name is leisha-Anne but you can call me Leisha or Lira, I wanted to ask for help, I'm new to these lands". The tall man began to Introduce everyone.
" hello dear, my name is Gandalf, Gandalf the gray and this is Thorin Oakenshield and his company" he gave me a bright smile and as I learned everyone my gaze caught the one of Bofur and I made my way over to him.
" is this rock free? Or does that rock belong to someone?" I asked softly and looked at him with a cheery smile. He looked up at me with a big smile and signified for me to sit down. So I did and we began to chat for awhile.
In that Time Gandalf tried to persuade Thorin to let me join in on their quest to reclaim their home. He was hesitant at first but after I showed him that I could clearly defend myself he let me join but only with a gruffly expression.
After several months of traveling with the dwarves:
In the time I was traveling with those dwarves, all of them were so important to me and we all got very close to each other. But most of the time I spend my day with were the king's nephews Fili and Kili and Bofur who I had grown to love.
I loved all of them but those three were my rocks. And that night, it was a very cold night, even around the fire I was freezing. Well I was half human half dwarf now so I feel the cold more than the other dwarves.
My sleeping cot was next to Bofur's luke every night. But that night was different. My teeth were clapping together and I was freezing. I could sleep because of the coldness.
Bofur behind began to turn around and pressed me against his chest before whispering in my ear " because of your clapping teeth I can't sleep. I hope this is better now". You blushed at his words and nodded quickly before falling asleep in his arms, with a big smile on your face.
