Whats so Funny?

Brenda laughs slightly,  causing me to furrow my brows. “What's so funny?” I asked, now becoming slightly self-conscious about my shoulder. She shakes her head slightly before answering. “Nice bra.”  She says, causing me to look at my shoulder which has my bra strap showing, along with a small part of the cup of my bra. I quickly pull the strap down my shoulder, trying not to touch the bite, causing Brenda and I to laugh shortly.

Brenda examines the bite shortly before taking in a large deep breath. “Good news is, it looks like a normal bite, which means you probably aren't infected.” She said before raising my arm over my head and beginning to wrap the bandage around my shoulder,  covering the bite. “There's bad news?” I ask, looking at her as she finishes off the wrap, cutting off the rest of ot before placing the bandages back into the first aid kit. Brenda look at me before shaking her head no, saying she has no bad news. I smile slightly at this but, it drops fast as I hear a low voice mutter something behind me.

“Liar.” I hear them say. I turn around and see Vince appear from a hallway, turning into the room. “There's always bad news.” He says, coming into the room, now only lit by candles making it a more eerie feel. “And what's that bad news?” Brenda asks for me, clearly noticing my shocked expression.

“Just because she isn't showing signs now doesn't mean she isn't, so don't get your hopes up.” He says, walking closer to me. I stand up, now level with him.

“You know how long it took my wife to show signs? Almost a full 2 days. Yet, it took me only a few hours to show signs after she took my nose.” He says, his teeth gritted. You can clearly tell he was angry, almost furious. He didn't have bliss being pumped into him at the moment, which is probably why he is acting like this.

“You don't know what your talking about.” I say, my tone coming out meaner than expected. My tone of voice only seemed to make him even angrier.

“No!” He yells, now in my face. “You don't know what youre talking about! Nobody's safe any more, not even if your not bit. The virus is airborne now, anyone not infected will be soon, that includes all your close friends. Your lover boy to!” A sudden rage fills my body as I slam my hand on the table, causing a loud sound before I start.

“Do you know nothing?! We were all in a maze you dumbass! And Brenda hasn't shown signs in months! Looks like you don't know anything.” I say, my jaw clenched and my eyes focused on him, awaiting his response. Instead of a response he breaks out into laughter, not just any laughter though, mad laughter as if he's lost his mind. This sound causes me to furrow my brows.

“What's so funny?” I hear Brenda finally speak up.

“This is what im talking about here!” He says, still laughing. “This is a sign, your anger. Like I said, no one's safe anymore” he says before turning around, and walking away saying the same awful words over and over again.

'Rose took my nose I suppose, Rose took my nose I suppose.’

I can't get what he said to me out of my mind.

This is a sign.

No one's safe anymore.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Am I really in danger of getting infected?

My mind instantly wanders to Winston, if he got infected, so can the rest of us pretty much. I look up as I see Thomas shuffling, turning back to the group to share his thoughts.

“No, there's gotta be another way.” Thomas says, walking back to the table. Thomas’ statement causes Gally to scoff slightly. “Like what? You've seen the building, shes our only way.” Gally says, set on the idea of basically kidnapping Teresa and forcing her to tell us all she knows. But I could care less what we do to her.

“You really think shes gonna help us?” Thomas asks, no one in particular. Before anyone can respond my voice fills the room.

“I don't plan on asking, I don't think anyone of us do.” I say, tuning back into the conversation as I lean into the resting my elbows on the surface. Across from me stands Newt, looking distant, slightly shaking his head.

“Am I missing something here, this is the same girl who betrayed us correct? Same dick?” Brenda says,  causing Gally to laugh slightly. “I like her.” He says, causing my mind to think of Minho. The first day we met he said the same exact thing to me, but I just shooed him away. My heart breaks at the memory of Minho, how I have missed him these passed few months. My mind comes back to reality at the sound of Newts voice.

“What, your afraid your little girlfriends gonna get hurt? This has obviously never been just about rescuing Minho.” Newt says, anger rising in his voice. His tone much scarier than I have ever heard from Newt.

“What are you talking about?” Thomas asks, dumbfounded by Newts crazy outburst as well. “Teresa.” Newt starts, standing taller, walking closer to Thomas, Thomas’ back now barely touching the wall. “She's the only reason Minho's even missing in the first place, now we finally have an opportunity to get him back, and you don't want to because of her? Because deep down inside you still care about her? Just admit it.” Newt finally finishes, now only inches apart from Thomas’ face. I stand taller, beginning to slowly walk closer to the two, but am stopped as Newt forces Thomas on the wall as he tries to speak.

“Dont lie to me! Don't lie to me!” Newt yells in Thomas’ face, his hands still holding tightly to the collar of Thomas’ jacket. Everyone jumps back slightly. I furrow my brows at Newts reaction.

He would never act this way, ever. Especially not towards Thomas.

Newt back away from Thomas slowly, his face full of guilt, as if he had just realized what he was doing. He instinctively grabs his right wrist before turning around towards us.

“Sorry.” He says, before shaking his head and walking out of the room, leaving us all dumbfounded at what had just happened.

My mind goes to what Vince had said earlier, The sudden anger, It being a sign. I acted the same way to Vince earlier when he said the tiniest thing that set me off. Was Vince right? Am I infected? But most importantly,

Is Newt infected?

Sorry for not uploading for such a long time, i'm really bad at this lol. I was gonna upload last weekend but my Guinea pig died on saturday so I just wasn't in the mood to write anything, sorry. Anyways hope you enjoyed this chapter I actually really enjoyed writing it and OMGGGG next chapter is gonna be hella cute and kinda action packed I think but be PREPARED!❤
