"This is supposed to be a temporary solution." Hiccup replied. Eret came up beside them.

"It's unanimous." He said, picking up a chicken drumstick. "Everyone agrees we've definitely traded up! Well done, Chief." Eret then left and went to eat the chicken drumstick. Hiccup walked off with Gobber, beginning to fret. Toothless still hadn't returned and his worries were beginning to get the better of him.

"What if the tail broke? What if Grimmel found him? What if...he needs me?"

"Would you relax? He's probably having the time of his life." Gobber told him, not worried at all.

"How would I know? She never comes around. And when she does, she's always rushing off. I'm saying how-how do we know if she's right for us?" Hiccup said, still in a small frenzy.

"Us?" Gobber asked, starting to see the true fears of the young chief.

"You know what I mean. She's so wild and skittish. I'm just gonna say it, I don't trust her." He said quickly. Gobber laughed at his antics.

"Can't tame them all, Hiccup. One day, you'll have to snip those apron strings and let Toothless stretch his wings. Reminds me of a talk I had with Stoick about you. Gaaah!" The Hobgobblers appeared out of nowhere again and there seemed to be more and more each time. "Where do they keep coming from?!" He exclaimed, hiding behind a hut.

"Who?" Hiccup asked as Gobber pointed to the Hobgobblers.

"Those bloody Hobgobblers!" Hiccup looked toward where Gobber was pointing but the Hobgobblers had disappeared yet again. "I swear, they're popping up faster than rabbits." He said, coming out of the hiding place. "I think they want to eat me. Evidence would suggest that I'm tasty." Then, Tuffnut came up to Hiccup.

"Hiccy! A moment? Listen, I've been watching you walk. Lose the limp. No one is gonna marry that."

"I have a prosthetic leg!" He exclaimed, very offended.

"So have I!" Gobber added, equally upset.

"And I have a parasitic twin, but you don't see me limping around about it! Come on." Tuffnut insisted, trying to make Hiccup keep his chin up. "Chin up, Hiccy! Pop out that chest!" Tuffnut patted Hiccup's chest but Hiccup didn't approve of it and he pushed Tuffnut's hand away. He tried to walk away, but Tuffnut just kept being even weirder. "Move that butt to the left a little bit!"

Gobber, who was trying to stay out of it and hang back, heard a noise behind him again. He turned around and discovered that even more Hobgobblers have appeared. Even more freaked by this point, Gobber hurried to run away as fast as he could.

Suddenly, Valka and Cloudjumper landed back on the island. The two were clearly troubled. Hiccup noticed how shaken up both looked. He hurried over to them to see if they were okay.

"Mom! Are you hurt? What happened out there?"

"I don't know how, but Grimmel is tracking us." Gobber arrived beside them moments later.

"Gaaah! This is all because of the Hobgobblers!" He insisted.

"He has a hundred ships, maybe more, with enough cages for all our dragons," Valka told them. Hiccup knew that this was serious and sighed, trying to think of something to do about it. He quickly came up with an idea.

"If Grimmel is leading them here, we have to take him out of the mix." He concluded.

"Uh...and how would we do that?" Tuff asked.

"By going there to capture him." Hiccup replied.

"Capture him?" Gobber asked, stunned. Tuffnut jumped with his arms up in the air.

"I'm with him! Who else!?"

"I'm with you." They turned as (Y/n) arrived, looking confident in his plan. Hiccup immediately shot her down.

"No. You're staying here."

"You are not leaving me behind. You need me." She told him sternly.

"I said no, and that's final! There is no way I'm letting you go while your leg is still healing!" She looked stunned for a moment as he began to walk off. She glared after him.

"In case you forget, you need a dragon to ride." Hiccup paused, realizing his predicament and mentally cursing himself for not thinking of that. "And you know for a fact that Nightshade isn't going anywhere without me." As if on cue, the dragon landed behind her. "Isn't that right, girl?" Nightshade stood tall behind her rider and nodded with a stern huff. Hiccup wasn't backing down so easily. It was a good thing the man could think of solutions on the fly.

"I'll ride with Arrow. Both of you are staying here."

"Arguing isn't a good way to start off there, Hiccy," Tuff commented.

"Would you stop that!?" Hiccup snapped, annoyed with Tuff. He sighed and faced (Y/n) again. Her gaze didn't waver.

"I'm going and you can't stop me." They two remained at a silent impasse for a moment longer before Hiccup sighed heavily, shaking his head in disapproval.

"Why do you never listen to me?" She grinned victoriously.

"Because somebody has to be there to tell you when you're wrong." He rolled his eyes.

"Gee, thanks." She chuckled.

"I'll be fine, Hiccup." He looked at her again, his gaze softening. He knew she was capable, but so much was going on. He didn't want anything to happen to another person of importance to him. With Toothless gone, he already felt like something was missing. The fear of that feeling getting worse consumed him more than he would ever admit.

"Fine. If you say so, then I trust you, but please be careful, okay?" She nodded, knowing how he felt and still respecting that aspect of his concerns.

"I will. We'll call it a compromise." He smiled a little at her. Even if she could be a major pain sometimes, he still couldn't help feeling his heart lift whenever she was around.

"Deal."
