Hooked on Herron || Zach Herron x Reader

"y/n?" I didn't notice the voice until a tear rolled down my cheek.
"Y/n?" They said again and reached for my arm. I looked up and saw it was Zach, I pulled my arm away from him.
"What do you want" I say and wipe the tear from my cheek.
"What's wrong?" He asks and grabs both my arms, I don't push him off but just look down.
"Nothing" I said quietly
"It's not nothing. You were about to start crying what's wrong" He asks again
"Nothing you would care about so just fuck off" I respond.
"Y/n. Look at me" He says and I slowly lift my head up and look up at him. "I do care about you and as much as you may think I don't, I do. I really do care about you y/n so can you please tell me what's wrong?" He says in a really soft voice. I didn't want to open up to someone who's an asshole like Zach but I guess he might actually want to change so I decided to tell him.
"It's just issues with my dad. He never cares about me or my mom and is always gone" I say, he looked down at me and stepped a little closer. I stepped back but the tree was behind me so I didn't move much.
"I'm sorry you have to go through that. He should know that he's missing out on seeing his beautiful daughter grow up to be even more amazing than you already are" He said and got kinda closer. He moved his hands down to reach mine and intertwined our hands.
"Thanks" I say and try to give a smile but barely even could. We looked into each others eyes for a while and he started to lean in. I don't know why but I closed my eyes and leaned in too. Our faces were less than an inch apart.
"Zach!" Shouts the familiar annoying voice that belongs to the one and only, Brianna. I pushed Zach off and looked at Brianna who was staring me down with a death glare. Zach was obviously annoyed and rolled his eyes
"What" He says
"Did I interrupt something?" She asks obliviously.
"Yeah you kinda-" Zach starts
"No nothing at all I was just leaving anyways" I say cutting Zach off.
"Everyone was just wondering where you went Zach so I came looking for you" She responded
"You should go now that you found us" He said under his breathe
"What" She asks confused since she couldn't really her him
"Oh nothing I just said well you found me"
"Yeah. Anyways we should get back to the campsite before it gets too dark" She says and walks over to him and grabs his hand. "Cmon I'll walk with you there" She says. Zach doesn't hold her hand back. I started walking away from them and back to the campsite to not have to hear Brianna. I walked and kept thinking what was wrong with me. Was I really about to kiss Zach that douchebag who's probably still lying about wanting to be a good person. Why? Why was I gonna do it? This is not like me at all. What's wrong with me. That's all I could think about. I got to the campsite and saw they started a campfire. It got cold so I walked to me and Jack's tent to get out a hoodie. I walked in and saw Jack in there's on his phone.
"Wow antisocial much?" I say and sat down next to him.
"Nah just my mom checking up on us"
"Aww your still a mamas boy" I said knowing it would annoy him.
"Am notttt" He says
"Yeah you are. Oh and can I borrow a hoodie I don't feel like looking for one" I ask
"No" He says and smiles. I lean on him and lay my head on his shoulder and he looks down at me
"Pleeeaaaasssseeeee" I say and give him puppy dog eyes.
"Fiiine" He says and I move off his shoulder and he takes off the hoodie he has on now and hands me it "I don't feel like getting out another so here" He says.
"Thank you" I say and put the hoodie on. It fit me really oversized than most his hoodies since this one was a size too big even on him.
"Let's go out and be social?" I ask
"Sigh I guess" He says and chuckles. We got out the tent and saw everyone else was out too.
Zach Brianna and Ashley sat together on a side of the bench, Jonah Corbyn and Daniel sat on the other side. I sat next to Ashley and Jack sat next to Daniel so me and him were across from each other.
"Hey y/n your finally back" Corbyn says
"Yeah what took so long I thought you were just making a call?" Daniel asks
"Yeah you were gone for a while" Jonah says
"Oh uh yeah something came up but.." I trailed off and looked over to see Zach looking at me probably worried I would say what almost happened "but I just needed some space to think to myself" I say and give a fake smile.
"Mm that makes sense" Jonah says and they all continue talking with each other. Well except Brianna since none of us really like her, well besides Ashley. Ash tapped my should to ask
"Y/n are you sure you're okay? You seem kinda off" Ashley says.
"I'll tell you later. Something happened when I was in the woods and I don't know what to do about it" I say
"Here come with me we'll talk about it." She says and gets up "Guys we'll be back" She says to everyone.
"What but she just got here" Corbyn whines.
"Yeah" Daniel says and makes a pouty face.
"Oh you'll be fine without her here for a few minutes. Cmon y/n" Ashley says and walks into her tent.
"Don't take too long we don't wanna miss you too much" Zach says but ignored him. I walked into her tent and sat across from her
"Sooo what happened?" Ashley asks.
