"You can hate me, be mad at me, whatever you want, but I am not and will never be like your mother. I would never use you or hurt you. No one with a heart could do that to someone they care for." I assure her. I begin to plead with her, "But please don't hate me."
She sighed deeply running her hands through her hair, "From a young age I was told that I was supposed to hate you. Hate everything about you, loathe the day you came into his world. Now that you're standing here, in the flesh, I don't understand why I don't."
"I hope you know that I will do right by you, and I hope you can trust me," I explain, keeping my voice low and serious, reaching for her forearm but she pulled away.
"I can't even trust my own head to control my heart," Ashton replies softly, looking up at me from her lashes.
She pauses for a moment, still looking at me with slight anger that had remained, "Find a horse. And not that unicorn that you can see from a mile away."

"Where are you bringing me?" I ask as she rides in front of me with her blonde hair blowing freely behind her, "This is beginning to seem like your going to murder me."
"It did cross my mind," Ash deadpans.
I pull on the reins of the horse to face to intercept her horse to face her. With the help of the moonlight cutting through the trees, I could see a slight smirk on her face.
"Here," She answers, as we come upon a break in the trees to a large rock to the left of a cliff.
Off the cliff, you could see the camp illuminated by the full moon above and then another hundred miles across Narnia and behind it. It was absolutely stunning.
As I gawked at the sight, Ash laughed, dismounting her horse and typing the reins to a tree. I followed her actions, doing the same thing as she sat on the edge of the cliff with her legs hanging off the side. "This is the place where two centaurs found me and literally dragged me to you, kicking and screaming."
"They had their reasons," I mention, defending the troops that have been nothing but loyal. Even after the events of a few.
"And I don't question their reasons, I was honestly surprised I wasn't killed on site," Ashton admitted.
"I studied maps of Narnia but nothing can compare to all of this. No artist could ever capture all the beauty." She says abandoning her gaze on the world in front of her to look up at me as I sat down next to her, "I had never seen much of Narnia until I came searching for you. Narnians had rarely seen me by that point as well, they only knew the information passed from tree to tree. By the time I was twelve, half of Narnia believed I was as much of a myth as you. Only rumors in the shadows of moonlight, that I used to run with Benvolio. All I knew were the same snow-covered trees and the same ice walls. The only other place I had seen was a small town named Beruna."She paused for a second, taking a deep breath, "On one dark night, we came across this small village, full of laughter and music. Villagers from every house gathered around the center of town. Sharing stories and drinking."
Ashton smiled softly to herself, before the smirk, disappeared faster than it came, "I wish the story stopped there."
"You don't have to explain if you don't want to," I assure her. As much as I wanted to know her story, I would understand if she wished to leave her past in the past.
She shook her head, continuing, "Overall the noise I could hear the wails of a young boy. The mixture of alcohol and anger did not go well. Ben and I found a mid-age man beating his child half to death. Ben got the child away leaving me and the drunken man. He screamed at me and then he swung at me, missing by a mile but coming close enough to rip my hood off. Once he realized I was a girl this threats changed.
