"Are there any clothes that you need me to get from your tent?" I ask her, prepared to go get some so she can avoid going back to the place that she was almost killed in.

After she shared the story, I wished to do anything to comfort her. No one should feel like a monster, especially not as a teenager. As many times has I told her she was not a monster on the travels back, I never think she fully believed it.

"No, it's fine." She insists.

"I can go get some different clothes from Susan and Lucy?" I offer, stepping towards the exit.

Ashton jumps up, running in front of the exit so I cannot leave, far less smoothly than I'm sure she intended.

"Ash, is there a reason you won't let me leave?" I question, skeptically.

"I don't-" She pauses, looking down at the ground, "I just don't particularly want to be alone right now..."

My stomach dropped in that moment. I promised her that she would be safe here, and now the idea of being alone for even a second is making her panic. And this is why

I couldn't blame her, after the events of tonight I don't want her to leave my side either. I walk over to my dresser pulling out a clean light blue shirt, "Here."

"Thanks," She half smiled, taking it from my hands.

She looks down at the folded fabric I gave her, running her hand over the softness. She looks up to me, "Peter? This is the part where you turn around."

"Right, of course," I murmured like an idiot.

I spun around to face the opposite. I sigh, walking over to my dresser and putting my hands on top of the oak. It is only then that I truly feel how tired I am as I let my head hang. My body was exhausted and my head more so. I pull my last bits of energy together stand up straight, still facing the uninhabited side of the tent. My eye is suddenly caught on the reflection coming from the silver vase in front of me. Looking into the vase allowed me to witness Ashton has she removed her shirt. I force my head back down, feeling my cheeks get hot and cursing myself for spying on Ashton, even if it was entirely an accident. The cursing lasts for a second before it was overcome with curiosity. My lack of self-control took over, and I glanced back at the metal. Seeing an even more revealing version of Ash's bare back before she pulled the shirt over her head, covering herself and ending my trance that compelled me against my honorable values.

"All clear, now." Ash mentions, I turn back around to face her, doing my best to pretend nothing happened.

She stood in front of me with my shirt hanging off her small frame. The shirt was long enough to get down to her mid-thigh.

"So..." Ashton drags out, breaking the silence in the tent, "Where will I be sleeping for the night?"

"You can stay here," I offer, "Under the circumstances, Edmund's bed is... well unoccupied for the moment."

She looks at me with a bit of confusion, "With you?"

"Unless you want me to leave?" I say, raising my eyebrows.

"No." She jumps before realizing I was teasing her.

She rolls her eyes, pulling back the sheets once meant for Ed. I start getting ready for bed, naturally taking off my shirt as I usually do and to avoid getting blood on my bed. Ashton turns back around seeing me, and immediately covering her eyes.

"A little warning would be nice!" She exclaims.

A little chuckle escapes my lips, "Ash, it's fine. It's not a big deal."

"To me it is!" She blurts out, still covering her eyes.

"Have you never seen a male body before?" I say sarcastically, laughing it off until I realize she was not laughing along with me. "Wait, you haven't?"

"You're an idiot," She resorts, sighing and slowly taking her hands away from her face but keeping her eyes glued to mine, nothing more, "I hadn't really met a 'male' until I met you... Certainly, no one I knew enough to see them half naked. My mother had betrothed me to your brother. She wanted an heir to continue the bloodline on the throne, but obviously, fate had a different plan."

"Well was it everything you imagined?" I smirked, feeling my lack of sleep start getting to my head with boldness.

I notice her eyes fall from mine, looking at my abdomen quickly.

She wildly rolls her eyes, knowing I had caught her before denying any focus on the question. She slips under the covers, facing the opposite direction, "Good night, Pevensie."

I shake my head getting into my own bed as well.

"A thousand times good night, Ashton." I resite, blowing out the candle next to my bedside.

Even though I could not see her I could tell that a little smirk came to the girl's lips, remembering the book she loved in her younger years as she said, "A thousand times good night, Cupcake."

Damn this chapter took so long to write.

After the monstrosity that is Game of Thrones Season 8, I refuse to put out anything but the best, unrushed chapters.
