The pair continued cleaning the dishes and the kitchen in general. Jihyo took the lead in the conversation and continued to tell Tzuyu stories about things that happened in TWICE. They laughed throughout some stories and became serious for others.
The other members had started to wake up by the time pair finished cleaning. The aroma wafting from the pancakes caused most members to wake up. They were surprised by the breakfast that Tzuyu and Jihyo had made for them when they walked into the dining room.
Jeongyeon was the last one to enter and sat on the opposite side from Jihyo. The other members could feel the lingering tension between their two members. They prayed that they could eat the delicacies in front of them in peace.
Jihyo cleared her throat, "Jeongyeon-unnie."
Jeongyeon flinched at hearing the leader call her name, "Y-y-yes?"
Jihyo gave a caring smile, surprising the other members except for Tzuyu, "I forgive you for what you did to Tzuyu."
The other members, except for Tzuyu, looked at Jihyo in shock. They were under the impression that the tension between Jihyo and Jeongyeon would last for a while. After what happened last time Jihyo was angry, they were certain that their leader was going to murder Jeongyeon.
Jeongyeon was the first to speak, "What? Why?"
"Because I begged her to," Tzuyu spoke up, "I didn't want this tension to last between you two. We are a family after all. We shouldn't be fighting each other," she stated while smiling widely.
Jeongyeon shed tears at the words of the angel in front of her, "Thank you, Tzuyu. And I am so sorry for what I did to you. I don't know what got a hold of me."
"It's okay, unnie. I forgive you. Just don't do it again, okay?" Tzuyu asked, gaining a nod in return from the older girl.
Jihyo clapped her hands to get everyone's attention, "Alright! Now that we have resolve the issue, and I have decided to not murder Jeongyeon-unnie, let's start eating!" the other girls cheered at their leader's words and began to eat.
"Totally didn't poison Jeongyeon-unnie's pancakes or anything," Jihyo muttered under her breath, loud enough only for Tzuyu, who was sitting beside her, to hear. The younger giggled at what Jihyo said.
Nayeon eyed the two suspiciously, "Did something happen?"
Jihyo quickly shook her head, "Nothing at all," the eldest believe their leader's words and started eating.
The girls ate joyously while sharing stories of their schedules yesterday. They were finally able to catch up after experiencing the dreadful dinner last night. Even Tzuyu was able to share her refound joy in dancing to her unnies.
Tzuyu slowly withdrew from the conversations and started to observe her unnies. She had been thinking about what Jihyo had told her last night ever since she woke up. With her recollection of rejecting Jeongyeon and Jihyo's promise to protect her, she wanted to know which of the remaining members she was in a relationship with and why they had not said anything yet.
Tzuyu remained lost in thought for the remainder of breakfast. The remaining members of the agreement acknowledged that it was time for them to let Momo have her time with Tzuyu, so they quickly cleaned their dishes and left the dorms to complete their schedules for the day. This left Momo alone with Tzuyu and Jihyo.
Momo mentally prepared herself before asking Jihyo to follow her. The younger girl looked at her confused. Momo gestured towards Tzuyu, and Jihyo quickly understood what she had wanted to say.
The pair told Tzuyu that they had something important to discuss before leaving the girl in the living room. Momo led Jihyo into her room and closed the door behind her. She gestured for the girl to sit on the bed while she pulled up a chair from her desk.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" Jihyo asked with a smile as she sat down on the bed.
"Well..." Momo hesitated momentarily, "The other members and I agreed that it would be my turn to court Tzuyu..."
Jihyo's smile faltered momentarily before returning, "Go ahead, Momo-unnie. I already told you girls that I am okay with this."
Momo sighed before standing up and walking over to the bed to sit beside Jihyo, "Look, Jihyo. I know that you said you were okay with this, and I know that you've forgiven Jeongyeon."
Momo started to rub the younger's arm, "But I know that you are still worried that one of us will hurt Tzuyu."
Jihyo let out a deep sigh, "You're right, I am. I may have snapped at Jeongyeon-unnie, but I hate seeing any of you girls getting hurt. Especially if it's the School Meal Club getting hurt," she started sniffling, "I promised myself that I would protect and care for them but look at what happened. One of them, the youngest, got hurt. And by who? One of us. I didn't know what to do."
Jihyo paused momentarily, "All I could feel was anger, and I honestly still feel angry. Not at Jeongyeon-unnie but at myself," she finally started to cry, "I feel like I failed as a leader. Not only towards Tzuyu but towards Jeongyeon-unnie as well."
Momo pulled Jihyo into a hug and started stroking the girls back, "Shhh. It's okay Jihyo-yah. You didn't fail as a leader; you never have, and you never will. You were only confused, and no one can blame you for that. I would probably be just as angry as you were if I was in your shoes."
"But---" Jihyo began to say before being cut off by Momo.
"No 'but's. You are the best leader that we could have ever asked for. Yeah, maybe you make a mistake here or there, but you always try to resolve it," Momo paused when she suddenly remembered what happened the last time Jihyo was angry but quickly shook the thought away, "All of your actions speaks volumes to how much you love and care for us. So, would we ever fault you for not knowing how to respond to a new situation? No, we wouldn't and would never think of it."
Momo tightened her hug around Jihyo when she felt the younger start to shake in her embrace, "We would be a complete mess without you as our leader. Nayeon-unnie and Jeongyeon would probably be bickering 24/7, I would probably be eating jokbal nonstop, Sana would probably break everything in the dorm considering how clumsy she is, Mina would probably stay inside all day playing her games, and I don't even want to think about the trouble the maknae line could get into. So never say that you've failed as a leader; you understand?"
Jihyo nodded into Momo's shoulder but continued to cry. Momo smiled at the response and continued to rub the younger girl's back. She felt happy that she could help comfort their leader for once instead of the other way around.
Jihyo eventually calmed down and broke away from the hug, showing a smile to Momo, "Thank you, Momo. Honestly, your words mean a lot to me."
Momo smiled back at Jihyo, "Anytime."
"I am surprised that it came from you though. You know, since everyone calls you a pabo," Jihyo teased.
Momo rolled her eyes before playfully punching Jihyo in the shoulder, "Thanks a lot, leader-nim."
Jihyo giggled in response, "Anyways, go enjoy your time with Tzuyu. I have my schedule to attend to in an hour."
Momo nodded before standing up and walking towards the door. She stopped before opening the door and turned around to face Jihyo, "And Jihyo," the younger looked up at Momo, "I would never hurt Tzuyu."
Jihyo giggled, "Of course you wouldn't; you couldn't even hurt a fly," she teased.
Momo rolled her eyes again before leaving the room.
---TWICE---
A/N: Hello everyone! This chapter was supposed to be a MoTzu centric chapter, but it ended up being a mixture of JiTzu and JiMo/MoJi. I even had it all planned out too... Oh well. I will just make the next chapter a long MoTzu chapter. Until next time and as always, thank you for the support!
