Taming Aurora

Chapter 21 - Making The Connections

"Where are the others?" I asked as soon as I walked closer to them.

"It's just us and we have to wait for Elijah" Steph said and I nodded my head and I made myself comfortable on the couch, only for Gio to join me.

"How you feeling bud?" He asks taking a sip from his drink, not taking his eyes off of me.

"I was doing quite well, until 4 minutes ago when I was summonsed here!" I said throwing a glare Steph's way.

"Well we are here because of you, so shut the fuck up and quit bitching" he answers, making his way to the scotch and pouring himself another generous amount. Now the only time Steph drinks that much, this time of the morning is either when shit is going down, or when his torturing someone or when his stressed, I wonder which of the above it is?

"About me?" I asked looking at him intently, trying to read him, which by the way is close to impossible when it comes to him.

"Yeah, like I told you in the hospital, we will be taking care of things and we did and now we at least have a damn clue" he says, looking deep in thought. 

"Well what clue would that be?" I asked after a few minutes because I thought he was going to continue but he didn't.

"Elijah called me and told me that he has some info for us, so we have to wait on him, he'll be here soon" he says and I only signed and leaned back on the couch and closed my eyes.

He got me here in a damn rush and now we have to fucking wait for Elijah, who is God only knows where! Sometimes I want to shoot Steph for being so damn... well him! His so fucking annoying and can be a pain in the damn ass sometimes, the only time when his tolerable is when his around his family, that's when I don't mind being in his company. I was just about to doze off when the door opened and you could hear heels, weird...

"What are they doing here?!" Steph asked and I immediately lifted my head and turned towards the door as Elijah closed it and the three of them walked in, Kiara, Aurora and of course Elijah.

"Well I figured it's best to have them here too, since they are the reason I was working on Maddie before this even happened, well I tried to and worked my ass off an-" Elijah was busy explaining when he was cut off by Steph.

"What are you talking about? How are they the reason you were working on Maddie?" He asked and I looked at Aurora, who lowered her head. She's in so much trouble when this meeting is over because we said in the hospital that unless it's about the business, we won't be keeping any secrets from each other!

"A few weeks ago, I caught these two in the surveillance room downstairs and when I questioned them they told me that they don't trust Maddie and thinks she's up to something and then Aurora over here confessed to following Maddie into the City and took some pictures of Maddie and some guy, which of course I was busy looking into and I finally got something as I only this morning sat down and went back to those pictures" Elijah says shocking me, she followed Maddie?!

"You followed her?!" I asked before anyone could say anything and she nodded her head and then looked away from me. "And when were you going to tell me this?!" I asked standing up from the couch and facing her, still with the distance between us as the two women stood rooted close to the door.

"Look I didn't tell you or anyone, not even Kiara at the time because I needed to be sure first and inorder to tell you, I knew I needed proof first because let's face it, all of you in this room except for Kiara, wouldn't have taken my warnings seriously because you all were blinded by her fake innocence! And I would have been accused of being jealous of her. So yeah I investigated myself because I knew that bitch was up to something!" She says sassily, lifting an eyebrow almost as if she's challenging one of us to argue with her.
