“Y-yeah I-i'm fine, thanks for the catch though but it's nothing to worry about, I-I have to go now.” Spencer said as she untangled herself from his grip and started to try and walk away but she couldn't she just didn't have the energy and she fell to the floor but of course Toby caught her in his big, strong, and protective arms. “Spence?! Spencer?! Come on Spence wake up.” Toby said desperately as he stroked her cheek in hopes that she would open her eyes but she wasn't responding, she was so still and that scared him. “Spencer open your eyes.” Toby pleaded with her as he held her in his arms but she wouldn't move and that terrified him.

When Spencer woke up she could tell that she was in the Nurse's Office, she let out a small groans and she felt someone squeeze her hand and she immediately could tell whose hand it was, had he really stayed with her?
“T-t-t-toby?” Spencer asked weakly and he squeezed her hand in response. “I'm right here Spence, I'm right here.” He said as he stroked her hair gently with his other hand and she gently turned her head a little so she could see him. “W-what happened?” She asked weakly.
“You fainted… straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn't have to go to such extremes.” Toby said smiling softly at her and Spencer's eyes widened, she definitely did not want to have to tell him what was really going on, she couldn't, it was for his own good. “O-of c-course I have missed you, s-so much, b-but that's not why I fainted….” Spencer trailed off before looking down at her hand which was still intertwined with his and as much as she knew she should pull away from him she just couldn't bring herself to do it.
“Spence what is it? What're you not telling me?” Toby asked with concern in his voice, even though a part of him was still upset with her for breaking things off with him for whatever reason, but no matter what he could never hate her, because she's Spencer.
“To be honest there's a lot, there's so much that I can't tell you, no matter how much I want to.” Spencer said and she still wasn't making eye contact with him because she knew that if she looked him in the eyes she would tell him everything and she couldn't let that happen, she needed to protect him, mainly from A of course, but also from the fear of losing her. “What do you mean you can't tell me? What's stopping you?” Toby asked. “We're not together anymore, you don't have to worry about me anymore.” Spencer said and those words really made Toby's heart hurt. “That doesn't mean that I don't still care about you.” He said. “Well it's not necessary, really I'm fine.” Spencer said but he shook his head, he wasn't buying it. “No Spence you're not fine, you wouldn't have just fainted into my arms if you were fine now tell me what's going on.” Toby said but he didn't say it harshly, just sweet and gentle like he always is with her and that's why she loves him so much. “Toby I can't do this right now.” Spencer said before trying to sit up but she was stopped by Toby's gentle hand. “Stop trying to push me away Spencer, now tell me what's wrong, a-are you sick or something?” Toby asked with concern and Spencer sighed deeply, he wanted answers and she knew that he wasn't going to stop until she gave him what he wanted so she knew that she was going to have to tell him the truth, well part of it at least. “Okay okay… you're right… I'm not fine.” She said and he squeezed her hand gently. “What's wrong Spence?” He asked gently and she had to stop herself from tearing up. “The truth is…. I-I…. I have an infection in one of my kidneys… it happened from me stressing myself out too much.” Spencer said not being able to look at him because she didn't want to see the look on his face, it was silent for a few more seconds until he rubbed her hand gently before starting to talk again.
“Spence…. Why didn't you tell me?” He asked, and she could hear the heartbreak in his voice and she took a deep breath before looking up at him and she could see that he was starting to tear up and then she started to tear up as well. “Like I said, we're not together anymore so you don't need to worry about me.” She said. “But I am worried about you, are you going to be okay?” He asked and the worry was evident in his voice.
