"Yes, I planned to come back after I received information that he was here. It was only a coincidence that Mr Yagami contacted me when I was on my way. My primary objective is to find Akio but while I do so, I can help with the Kira investigation. If you need me to do anything then I'll do it, Aihara seems to hate the lack of work I am doing for you," you say. L nods, eyes drifting over to the computer desk he was sitting at before.

"I saw you working this morning," he informed, pointing to the surveillance cameras which had the feed displayed on the computer screen. You nodded, understanding that this amount of security was essential for them. Having L here was dangerous, if people found out his location it could cause a lot of problems.

Light approached the two of you, placing a steaming teacup on the table next to your sketch book.

"I made this for you," he informed, taking the seat on the other side of you. He rested his elbow on the table, his chin leaning on his open palm.

"Still looking for him, huh?" he asked. You nodded, eyes moving to the cup.

"Sugar?" He sighed and got up, picking up a container of sugar cubes and bringing it over to you. You removed the lid and reached in, taking one and bringing it to your mouth. Light sighed as he watched you eat it, reaching in for another one. He pulled the container towards himself so you couldn't reach it.

"The sugar is for the tea, not for you to eat," he scolded. You watched as he got up, trying to leave with the sugar. Before he could get away, you caught him by the back of his shirt, gently tugging at it.

"Can I have it back, please?" you asked, your voice softer than usual. Light noticed this too, his eyes drifting to L to see how he was reacting. The raven-haired man remained crouched in the chair beside yours, eyeing the container filled with sugar. Light responded by shaking his head, leaving the room to take the sugar away. L turned back, noticing how you had a barely noticeable pout.

"Do you like sugar, Miss Yagami?" L asked, adjusting his crouched position. You hummed quietly, beginning to sketch a small tea cup with steam coming from the top. Watari approached the detective when he caught his eye.

"Is there something I can help you with?" he asked. L nodded before leaning in to whisper in the older male's ear. It was something that you couldn't hear, not that you were paying attention anyway. Watari agreed before leaving the two of you, L poking your back to get your attention.

"You don't have to upset," he assured, his lips curving upward in an awkward yet adorable half smile. You hummed as you watched him, scanning his features carefully. Prior to meeting L you had no clue what he would look like but seeing him surprised you, he wasn't a normal person like everyone else, he seemed to be quite similar to you.

Watari returned a moment later with a plate stacked with sugar cubes occupying his hand. You were surprised by this, eyeing the man as he approached your table and placed it in front of you.

"Is there anything else you need?" he asked, focusing on the two of you rather than just L. You shook your head, looking at what was sitting on the table in surprise.

"Does this make you happy?" L asked, seeming hopeful.

"Yes," you responded, continuing to stare in awe. L picked up a teaspoon and scooped up a sugar cube, bringing it close to your face. Without hesitation, you opened your mouth and allowed him to feed it to you. It didn't seem weird at all, the sweetness of the sugar cube filling your mouth as the sugar crystals melting against the warmth of your tongue. It almost made you forget it, not caring as L continued to do this until all of the sugar cubes were gone.

"You ate a lot of them," he thought aloud, dragging his finger along the empty plate to pick up some of the loose sugar. He then brought it to his mouth, licking it off.

"Thank you. Even though I am Light's older sibling, he continues to mother me," you tell L. He seemed interested in this, fulling turning in his chair so he was facing you.

"Could you tell me about your childhood? Your life with the Yagami's," he asked, his head tilting again. Not seeing a problem with it, you started talking. From when you met Mr Yagami to when you were adopted by his family and up until you left home at 15.

And even though he was the best detective in the world, probably having way more important things to do, he listened to it all. This was strange for you, he was one of the only people who gave you the chance to speak. You were grateful for that, becoming more fond of the detective with every minute that passed by.

Gotta have more L in there since a majority of this has been introducing the main character, her past and such. We'll have even more of that, finding out why she was in the police station in the first place and all that jazz. Hope you're enjoying the story so far, thank you for reading!
