I called Noah.
"Y/N, what's up?"
"When is the earliest that I can do that video interview?"
-
"I'll have to talk to Ian, but I'm pretty sure he's free tomorrow? What's up, what made you change your mind?" He asked, hearing my sniffles and the unevenness in my voice."You remember Jaime and Willow?" I could hear him a hold back a groan. He never did like those two. "I caught them making out in Jaimes apartment."
"Oh my god. Y/N, I'm so sorry. I'll fly down there and beat their asses, I swear, just say the word."
"It's fine. I should've seen this coming. Fuck, why was I so stupid?" I put Noah on speakerphone, set my phone down, and put my head in my hands. I couldn't control my tears any longer. I started sobbing.
"Hey, Y/N, this is not your fault. Jaime was an asshole. But you are an amazing person who sees the best in everyone. That is not your fault. You're the strongest person I know, if anyone can get through this, it's you. I'm gonna talk to Ian and get you that interview. And you're gonna get this job, and you'll never have to see Jaime or Willow again. You're gonna be okay, Y/N."
"Yeah. I'm gonna be okay. Thank you, Noah. You're the best. I love you, seriously." I rested my head on the steering wheel. Realizing I was still parked outside Jaimes apartment, I started my car and drove away.
"I love you, too, Y/N. Lemme call Ian. I'll text you." Noah hung up. He texted me less than ten minutes later.

ian is free all today and tomorrow
sick. today at five, Philly time, is that fine?
should be, yeah
yeah, he said that's finei'm nervous.
don't be you're gonna rock this
plus, ian's chill
you'll be fine---
Time seemed to crawl by at a snails pace. Maybe that was because I was basically sitting and watching the time tick by. Maybe it was because I was miserable. Nevertheless, it was 4, and I needed to look presentable.
I splashed some cold water on my face, fixed my messy hair, put on a button up, and a blazer. I looked at myself in the mirror.
I looked good. I looked professional.I heard the familiar tone of an incoming video call from my laptop on my bed. I looked at my phone.
4:46
"Shit. He's calling early."
I rushed over to the bed, grabbing my laptop and setting it up at my desk. I sat down, took a deep breath, and accepted the call. Ian's face appeared on screen.
"Y/N! Sorry for calling early, just wanted to get this show on the road, hope that's alright." Ian shuffled with some paper off camera. I nodded.
"Great! So, I'm gonna be asking you some pretty standard interview questions, and then some personality type questions, just to make sure you'll fit in with the rest of the Smosh family." He paused for a second and looked up. "Which I'm sure you will. Let's get started! First question, why do you want to work for this company?"
"Well, I really like the content Smosh creates, on all of your channels. It's fun and intriguing, and it's obvious that the people who work on these videos are passionate about the things they're creating, and love the people they work with." A smile creeped up on my face. Ian smiles back.
"Good answer! Next question. So in this position, you'd mainly be editing. Why do you think you'd be a good fit?" Ian asks.
"Well I've been editing videos for about three to four years now, and editing photos for almost six. Editing is whole heartedly my passion. I've been editing videos for my YouTube channel for as long as I've been uploading, so about a year come September."
"Great, one last interview type question, before we move on to the more fun stuff. Are you comfortable being on camera?""On camera?" I furrowed my eyebrows, confused. "I'm applying for an editing job, why would I need to be on camera?"
"Well, your main job would be editing, but here at Smosh we like to try and include everyone in videos every once and awhile. If you are on camera, based on the content on your Youtube channel, it would mainly be for Smosh Games. But if you aren't comfortable on camera, we completely understand that." Ian explained.
"Oh. Yeah, no, that's completely fine. I mean I already have a YouTube channel, as you already know, so I'm fine around cameras.""Cool! Now, to get to know you a little bit better."
---
The interview dragged on for a little while after that, and soon, talking to Ian became more and more comfortable. Before long, the interview was almost over.
"One last thing before I've gotta go. I'm sure you're aware that if we do offer you this job, you'll have to move to California." Ian states. I already knew that but hearing it made it feel so real.
"I'm aware."
"Good. Well, we'll be in touch, Y/N!"
