twenty-three.

he nodded eagerly, "i want to see the place you grew up. i want you to show me all the places you love." 

veronica couldn't help but crash her lips to his passionately. and despite it being six thirty pm, the two stood up to dress in proper attire for outside. they both dressed in black skinny jeans and thin hoodies, considering it was june. it still got a little chilly at night in boston though. 

within a few minutes, they entered veronica's white prius and buckled up. veronica was driving and she was so beyond excited to show tyler around a little bit. "how long are you going to be here?" she asked before deciding where to take him.

tyler placed his hand on her thigh as she backed out of the driveway, "i didn't buy a returning plane ticket yet because i wasn't sure." 

she smiled, "feel free to stay forever." 

he chuckled, "i would if i could."

veronica made a quick plan in her head for the night. she wanted to show him around but since they weren't in too big of a rush and it was late, she took tyler to the local drive in theater. she wasn't sure what was playing but upon arriving she found out that it was baby driver and wonder woman on screen one, so that's what the two chose to watch. veronica pulled to the window, paid, and then found a good spot by the big screen. the first movie started in about twenty minutes. 

"have you ever been to a drive in?" veronica asked tyler who was looking around and people watching.

he moved his attention to her as her body turned towards him, "nope!" 

she smiled, "it's my favorite thing to do." 

tyler smiled and laid his hand on top of hers, "then it's one of my favorite things to do, too. thank you for bringing me here." he pecked her cheek. 

she chuckled, "i had my first kiss right here at this drive in. over there," she pointed to the nearby snack shack. "i was ordering a pretzel and he literally kissed me out of nowhere. in the middle of me asking for a pretzel. so romantic, huh?" 

tyler chuckled and interlocked their fingers, "very romantic. was it trey?" 

veronica smiled at the thought of him remembering such a small detail about her past, "no it actually wasn't. i came to the movies with some friends. one of the people being this guy i really liked. the kiss i had in the snack shack was with the guy i liked best friend." she winced at the memory. 

tyler chuckled, "well gee, that's one way to get the guy you like!" 

veronica giggled, "i didn't know the guy was gonna kiss me! it was out of nowhere! but the guy i liked, his name was kevin, he never talked to me again." she finished with a laugh. 

tyler smiled at her cuteness and his happiness about her sharing stories about her past, "well i'm glad because it led you to me." 

she smiled back, "i'm glad too," she paused and kissed his lips quickly. "seriously, you make me so happy. i feel like i'm on cloud nine every time i'm with you. it's weird." 

tyler gave her a confused look and squeezed her hand, "weird?" 

she nodded and sucked in her bottom lip, "yeah. you see," she paused and sighed. "i'm really not the type of girl to let a guy in. i've always been an advocate for being independent and for not allowing a guy to be the source of my happiness. but recently, you've changed that. you are the source of my happiness and i can't imagine life without you in it. you make me smile so goddamn much that i wake up in the morning and my cheeks hurt from smiling so much the day before. i think about you constantly and all i wanna do is be next to you, holding your hand and cheering you on with whatever you are doing in that moment. whether it be performing, playing a video game, or simply sleeping. you treat me better than anyone in my entire life has. i just, i love you so much." she admitted. 

tyler smiled bigger than ever, "i feel the same way. i can't picture life any differently and i'm so glad you are in my life. i hope there's never a moment where you aren't. i picture my future with you every night and i can't wait for it. i don't just love you ronnie, i'm in love with you. every part of you. and i never won't be."

veronica blushed and touched his cheek, looking into his eyes. "i'm in love with you too, tyler."

he smiled into the kiss before she pulled away. "wanna get some snacks?" he asked. 

"always." 

the two got out of the car and entered the nearby snack shack. they glanced at the menu before getting in line to order. tyler kept his hands on her at all times, letting anyone and everyone in sight know that this girl right here is his. and he's hers. 

"what would you like?" the employee asked as veronica stepped up to the register. 

"can i have a soft pret-" she started but got cut off by tyler crashing his lips to hers in a passionate, short kiss. she smiled so hard before pulling away and rested her forehead on his. "that was much better than my first kiss."
