Jimin was staring at your phone, his eyes filled with so much emotion you had to swallow the lump forming in your throat again.
"He's the cutest baby in the whole world" He cooed, smiling so hard you thought he might pull a muscle.
You chatted to him for a while, telling him stories about Min Jun as a baby, and all the funny little quirks he had.
Turns out Min Jun inherited a lot more from Jimin than you had originally thought.
The thought simultaneously making you smile and want to cry.
The severity and strangeness of the situation hadn't really dawned on you, instead the bliss of finally being about to talk about him to Jimin overshadowed everything else.
You weren't angry anymore, and all that was left was relief.
You didn't realize how much time had passed until you looked over at the clock on the wall, noting that you had been sat talking for two hours now.
"Oh sh*t" you let out, quickly rifling through your bag to retrieve your phone, "Sh*t sh*t sh*t!"
You had a dozen missed messages from Ji-ae.
"What is it?" Jimin asked curiously, peering over at you.
"I lost track of time, I gotta get back home to Min Jun to relieve Ji-ae" You replied, immediately standing up so you could gather your things.
"Okay! Let me walk you out!" Jimin piped up, running around the table to push in your chair as soon as you turned away from it.
You fast walked down the corridor towards the elevators, texting a taxi company to pick you up.
Two minutes away, perfect.
You pressed the call button, tapping your feet impatiently as you waited for the elevator to arrive at your floor.
"So um.. thanks again for coming today." Jimin said.
"I'm glad I did" you replied in all honesty.
"Let's exchange numbers again, so I can contact you"
You eyed him carefully before handing over your phone, watching as he entered his number into it before sending himself a message.
"Won't your company be angry?" You asked, cautiously taking your phone as he returned it to you.
"I'm the one that should be angry, I have a lot I need to say to them now" He said through gritted teeth, shaking his head disapprovingly.
You nodded, not sure what to add.
"By the way... I-I know it's a little fast and you're probably not ready but.. I was wondering if I could, you know, meet Min Jun again?"
The question making you whip your head to meet his gaze you realized you had completely forgotten about this difficult part of the equation.
How the hell am I going to explain this to Min Jun...
"You can, definitely. Just.. give me some time to figure things out. I don't want to dump this on him so suddenly." You gripped your bag nervously as you searched for a solution, knowing you didn't want to keep Jimin from spending time with him in the meantime, " But I'm not oppose to you seeing him as his new friend until we can think of a way to do this properly..."
"I'm okay with that. Just text me when you're free" He said, nodding and smiling as if you'd just given him the exact answer he wanted.
The elevator opened, making you sigh in relief.
"I'll see you later Jimin," you said, reaching over to press the button for the lobby.
You smiled as the boy waved at you enthusiastically, his eyes scrunching up in the most adorable way.
"I'll text you! Get home safe" He called, following the doors as they closed.
You sighed as the elevator started to descend, replaying the events of the day over and over in your head through the whole journey back home.
It wasn't until you stepped through your apartment door, greeted with a giant hug from your son that you felt relaxed again.
