"And I'm off to rescue the hounds, don't do anything stupid while I'm gone Emmett!" Tucker called as he rushed off as well, leaving me alone in the room with the tiny injured female. I stayed her silent guard as the minutes ticked by, each one felt like hours as I watched her sleeping form on my bed. Asher joined me in guarding her as we waited for the others to get back from cleaning up the mess left behind at the sanctuary and on our doorstep.

Daniel got back first and decided to shift and sleep on the floor beside the bed, he wasn't the only one who wanted to be closer to her. I was about to go on over and join him when a loud commotion downstairs had her jolting awake and with a whine she was rushing out of the bedroom far faster than she should have been moving, we were quick to follow. "Tucker I'm going to kill you!" I heard Simon shouting as Sidney followed the sounds of the shouting towards the kitchen. I rounded the corner and couldn't help laughing at the site in front of me, and he had told me not to do anything stupid.

                                                Tucker

My brother might have been cursing me out and threatening to kill me from his perch on top of the kitchen counter but it was entirely worth it. Watching his face as the two overgrown mutts barked up at him was priceless, the dogs really seemed to hate him and the feeling was mutual by the looks of things. I caught the sound of chuckles behind me and turned to grin at Emmett and the others until a soft whine had everything falling silent. Sidney was standing there, wagging her tail behind her and then two fur balls were rushing past me and swarming her. There was a chorus of whines, barks and whimpers as Tyson and Ollie were reunited with Sid in wolf form.

It was strange watching how quickly they submitted to her and went to licking her wounds like overgrown puppies. "Tucker I..." Simon had wearily found his way off the counter as he stalked up to me with a growl. "You really want to kill me right now over a few mutts, look at how happy they make her." I nodded over to where she was lovingly nuzzling into them and he stared at the sight right with me. "Can they stay, please? I promise I won't let them bother you." Sidney linked out hopefully to us as she settled those big puppy dog eyes on Si with a whine.

"Fine they can stay, but the moment they pose a threat to your healing process they are getting sent back to your cottage." He ordered out roughly. I was surprised how quickly she could move despite her wounds as she knocked Simon's legs out from under him. He wound up on the floor staring at her as she nuzzled his shoulder in thanks, he wasn't even the one to bring them here. "Hey what am I chopped liver?" I pouted out at her, only half joking.

"For your information chopped liver is delicious when done right." She linked her scoff as she came over and nudged my hand with her nose. "Thank you." Her link was full of a warmth that had me gasping at the sheer beauty of it and her. "Now get back to resting and take the mutts with you, the food will be done in a bit." Simon shooed us into the living room. Sidney was quick to take up a spot on the couch and her pets posted themselves beside her, she really did seem happy to have them back at her sides.

                                             Asher

She cared about her pets more than we realized initially it seemed, and they were extremely protective of her unless she ordered them otherwise. It was unnerving how their eyes focused on every small move we made, and their low rumbling growls warned us to keep our distance. The only one they weren't completely snapping at was Daniel in wolf form, they seemed to accept that he meant no threat. Once he had figured out they weren't bothered by him he cozied up on the couch as close to the she wolf as her pets would allow.

"I hope you like spaghetti and meatballs, because that's one of the few things I know how to make. With Fletcher resting we have to figure out meals on our own for now, until he's good enough to take back his kitchen." Simon stated as he brought in a pot full of pasta and another with sauce and meatballs. He didn't seem pleased that the dogs were watching his every move but he held his nerve and like Sid had promised neither of them bothered him. "We can eat in the dining room Si, I think the girl has proved she is more than capable of walking." Tucker teased until Simon's growl had him bowing his head slightly at his more dominant brother.

"Speaking of which I'd like to have opposable thumbs while eating, I don't suppose you might have some clothes I can use?" Her link rang out to all of us, she had no clue how much the thought appealed to us. "You can wear mine if you want." Tucker grinned as Simon scowled his way. "Your clothes probably would fall right off her, maybe Fletcher's would work though?" Daniel linked to us, and thus the arguing over whose clothes were best began. I could see Sidney was annoyed with all the noise and the others weren't making much progress so I took matters into my own hands.

I headed back upstairs and grabbed a shirt that I figured would be best and would at the very least be like a dress on the girl, then I headed back down to the arguing idiots. "Here, it doesn't come with shorts but it should be long enough that you won't need them." I offered the shirt to her, quieting the others as her pets growled at my approach. "Thanks." Her link was a grateful sigh at me as she gently took the shirt in her teeth and headed into the kitchen to shift and slip it on out of sight, her pets followed at her heels.

"You really think that shirt was the best choice?" Simon raised at me. "If it was one of ours we would have ended up in a fight of some sort, you might want to link the others that we have food ready." I nodded back as Daniel hurried upstairs to find some clothes for himself. "If only we could uninvite Beck, his current mood isn't exactly the best for good digestion." Emmett grumbled out. "Enough, get everyone to the dining room that is here, the others can join us later." Simon ordered out as he headed to set the food on the table, and we moved to follow orders.
