You and Light were put under surveillance in different cells right away. The chief was not happy at all about what had happened. The task force kept being prevented from investigating the Kira-case efficiently. 'Is that what Light is trying to do? Keep finding distractions?' You asked yourself. For now, the rest of the task force had to solve this little problem of you and Light. Plan what they will do with the two of you. They noted down all the accusations that were made and tried to find supporting facts. They discussed how to divide the work and once they agreed on everything, the chief planned to visit you and Light in the morning of next day to inform you of what was going to happen.
In the meantime, you thought back to what had happened. You also realized that the death note flew quite far from the table. You didn't remember touching the note when you pushed Light to the ground... 'And neither did he throw the note off the table... That's weird..." You thought. But you were very tired and needed some rest. You have been awake for over a day and too much had happened. You put down your head on the pillow and closed your eyes. You sighed and just hoped that things wouldn't get worse.
In the next morning, Mr. Yagami came to visit you and Light to inform you that you will remain in detention until the result of rule 6 comes out. The chief looked very tired, probably because he stayed up all the time with the others discussing what had and will happen. The fact that his own son was part of this didn't make things better for him. He said that Light and Misa would become -once again- the main suspects of this case if rule 6 proves to be wrong. But if it proved to be right, then... "Well, we don't know what we will do with you then..." The chief explained. They didn't have any evidence against you, but they will probably put the hunt after Kira aside and investigate you instead. Finding out the truth about you might lead to solving the case if you were connected to it. They couldn't keep you in detention forever if they had nothing against you, but they couldn't keep you working with them without knowing if they could really trust you. They also couldn't just let you walk away with all the information you had about the investigations. You knew that they would probably find about your cooperation with the SPK, which would be enough to keep you behind bars and mark you as a traitor, though.
"You know that the two Kira's are in contact and a death note was still out there... You also know that Kira can manipulate the victims' death and destine that they die before it actually happens. That was a rule we prove, remember?" You reminded the chief. "If Light is Kira, then the truth of rule 6 can as well be manipulated and you all won't get anything out of it!" You hoped that he would keep that in mind even if it involved his own son.
"We have no proof, but we can't lock you two in here forever... Before Ryuzaki died, he suspected my son of being Kira but nevertheless, he wanted him to take part in the investigation to make it move forward faster as well as keep an eye on him." Mr. Yagami explained. "We have to do the same as long as we don't have proof to support our theory..." You had a feeling that he was referring to Light and not to you. "You mean Light..." You wanted to hear it from him. "If rule 6 proves his innocence, we will let him out and if not, we will let you out. I'll keep in mind what you told me. After that, we will decide what we should do with the one remaining behind bars." He explained.
You didn't like how this sounded. There was a 50% chance-, no the chance of you getting out was much less. You just knew that Light would never do something without being well prepared in every way. That meant that Light will get out and decide with the other members of the task force what should happen with you. 'He won't kill me right away because that would be suspicious, but he might fake evidence to support his theories or make me disappear or something...' You knew that things would just get worse. You had to get out of here and plan your next moves very carefully...
More days passed. You had enough time to rethink everything that had happened. You thought about how you got into the task force, the case with Higuchi being the main suspect, the death note, the testing with the SPK, Aizawa having doubts about you, Light, the agent, the discussion and the things that Light had accused you of, the note that he and Aizawa saw on your desk...
You tried to find an explanation for everything that had happened and tried to put the events together. You tried to recall if you had made any mistakes and how it was best for you to go on. It was definitely hard to get into Lights head and think like him. He was a sociopath. He was insanely smart and played a two-faced game with everyone as well. You couldn't know what he actually wanted because he was hiding it very well. But you narrowed down the possibilities.
There was the note, that he saw on your desk. It was probably unexpected to see it in your place unless he suspected you of being Kira3 before he saw the note. He probably had to think about what he wanted to do then. With you being a Kira, a person that wasn't smart enough and part of the task force, he concluded that you were more of an obstacle and danger to him than any good. He couldn't keep you around for longer and had to get rid of you. 'That's why he mentioned the note he saw in my place and blamed me for being Kira3 in front of everyone.' You concluded. 'According to Lights surprise to Aizawa seeing the note too I'd say that he didn't work together with Aizawa to put me away. But that's Light I'm talking about... I never know if his reaction is real or just played...'
If what you thought was real, then Light -as Kira- would not ship his spotlight on you and make it look like you were the creator of his new world. 'That would have never worked anyway. I don't fit into Kira's profile and Light knows that. Moreover, if he blamed me for being Kira and I got executed for that, he would just continue killing just like he did after Higuchi was dead and the investigations would continue looking for him. Kira doesn't want to be found, but he definitely doesn't want to stop his doing and would rather just fight his opponents.' You thought.
Also with L being gone, Light is probably determined that he is safe. You smiled when you remembered N's appearance. It almost seemed like L was back but in a different role. 'Good luck, Light.' you chuckled. 'With N, I'm sure we will get to you, Light...' You thought about the idea that Light might not want to kill you right away. 'If he really thinks that I'm Kira3 then he might want to get my death note... Maybe my cooperation but I doubt that.' You thought more about this idea. 'Since when are two death notes better than three... Light is manipulative. What if he tries to gain my trust so he could use my powers?' You asked yourself and thought about the death note. 'Who are you, shinigami...? What did you want from me...?' If Light wanted to manipulate you, you had to play along with him and show him that he could trust you. You also had to find the death note or find an excuse for why you didn't want to or couldn't show it to him.
You really hoped that he wouldn't try to kill you. Because if he wanted to get rid of you he would be successful very fast. 'One look and Misa would know my real name...' You remembered. Since you weren't sure about Lights motives and plans, you had to avoid Misa, unless...
You jumped up.
'Unless she can see my real name through pictures...' If she could do that, it might already be too late for you. 'I could die at any moment...' This thought scared you the most. Not knowing how much longer you would live. Knowing that someone else held your life in their hand. The only way to prevent yourself from getting killed was to talk to Light as soon as possible and make him hesitate to kill you. 'I...I could pretend that I only came to the task force to find him...' As absurd as this sounded, you would do almost anything to stay alive. 'I'll surely not die before I get him...!' You were very determined. 'This bastard killed L... And many other innocent people... I have to put an end to him before he does to me...' You felt frustration rising in you. But there was nothing you could do right now. Nothing beside sitting in your cell and wait...
None of the detectives visited after the chief came to you. You let yourself fall back on the hard mattress of your bed. 'How many days have passed?' You lost track of time in there. 'Three days...? Four...?' You tried to remember how often you were served breakfast. '3 times... Wait- today rule 6... the result!' Your heart started to beat fast. 'Soon the detectives will decide to release Light. When a detective comes to inform me, I'll request to speak to him. But what will I tell him?' You started thinking about what you should tell him.
