"Let me just stop you there. I'm sorry I said anything. I didn't mean to force you onto him." he shivered.

"Dinner at where?" Kat looked at her nana from behind her desk at her ever so busy New York bakery.
"At the Spanish restaurant Richard and I love. It's just for your girls and Jon. To thank you for dealing with everything from food to the cake and to not charging us with cut throat prices." she smiled.
"Who else is going?" Kat asked suspiciously.
"Like I said, just you and the girls and Jon. Don't worry, Talen isn't going to be there. Your brother said the both of them are flying over to Vegas to treat some of their clients. Could you pick up Ryder from his place as well?" jealousy hit Kat in waves.
Vegas? Where there woul be girls parading in front of him in skanky clothes and high heels and worst--- fake boobs.
"Yea I'll be there. May just run a little late, have to finish an order for a late night delivery. Nothing special to be dressed up in right? And yes I'll pick him up." after Kat had just thought about Talen... all she wanted to do was sit in her sweats and eat caramel popcorn all night long.
"Katerina, do you want to show up in shorts? Is that it? Have I not thought you how to dress properly?" her nana chided.
"Ok, Ok fine. Jeez, feels as if I'm 10 again." Kat sighed.
After waving her goodbye, and closing up the bakery. It was just her and her crew left behind. Working in sync with them as some of them made pastel flowers, and she piped on the icing in intricate designs. Watching the clock closely, she made sure to leave so that she had enough time to go back and wash up after a hard days work.
Her phone was already dead, and she plugged it into the charger as soon as she stepped into her house. Deciding to keep it fairly casual in a flower printed crop top and high waisted jeans, she paired it a black blazer and wedges.
"Fuck." she whispered as she noticed her switch for the plug was not turned on yet and she had no means of contacting Ryder. Deciding to go just honk the life out of him from his apartment as well.
~~
"Sorry I ran late. My phone was dead!" she told Ryder as he got into her car.
He looked good, as always, but she didn't get the usual tingles that she usually did when she saw...
Snapping herself out of it, she concentrated on what Ryder was saying. The last thing she needed to think about was Talen and how he was probably oogling some girl with barely any clothes on.
The most hurtful thing to see on the papers or tabloids were the other women around him. She didn't know if he was truly single or had one night stands. That last night on their fight, he hadn't said he loved her or even tried to say anything.
Probably her fault because she didn't let him-- "Katerina? Katerina are you alright?" Ryder squeezed her hand, bringing her back to reality.
"Sorry, I kinda spaced out. You were saying?" they fell into a somewhat comfortable flow of conversation about how each other's work was going on.
Pulling into the parking space allocated for the restaurant, they stepped in together and were led by the attendant to their table were the others were already gathered.
Ryder had placed his hand on Kat's lower back casually, and she had not minded. But as soon as she stepped into the room, everyone's conversation stopped and all eyes were on them.
Green orbs were looking directly at her, and were not happy to see Ryder's arm on her bare waist. She silently cursed herself for wearing a crop top. Hell, she silently cursed her grandmother for lying to her about his presence.
