I stood in the corner of the room, as always, watching everyone as they casually as they walked by the cauldron that was filled with the apples. Michael has explained to me that Mead and Venable has put venom from the snake he summoned into the apples. They did this so that when everyone ate them at the same time the venom would enter their bloodstream through their digestive track.

Music was playing in the background and Venable weaved herself around them so she could observe the scene that was about to happen in front of her. When she got closer to me see smirked and hit her cain on the floor. "Ah, Mrs. Montgomery i see you and Michael have received our invitation to this soiree..." She gleamed.

"Yes i did considering i was here when you announced it," I sneered, knowing apart of her plan is to kill me and Michael during this party.

"Oh, i didn't see you. Anyway where is Mr. Langdon?" she asked placing both of her hands on her cain in front of her. She looked so proud that she was in charge of this who ordeal. Or maybe it was the fact that she thought she was going to get out of here. Only the truth was she was getting out of here only not the way she wanted to.

"Mr. Langdon has declined this offer considering he has much paperwork to do about the selections, so he can finalize everything." I sarcastically smile. At the mention that Michael would not be attending Venables facial expressions went from excited and happy to ones of confusion and fear.

"Ah well enjoy your night Mrs. Langd... i mean Montgomery" She said walking as fast as she could away from me. As if the thought of that would be offensive. I would be Mrs. Langdon with given time. Me and Michael just had to get away from these boring people.

From above us we hear the annoying voice of Mrs. Venable echo "Now, let the festivities begin you may start bobbing for apples." Considering Mallory was the closest to the pot she held onto the sides and plunged her head under the water to try and find an apple and with much luck she came back up with a bright red apple. Everyone cheered and hollered for her.

Mallory grabbed the apple out of her mouth and looked at it pretty much drooling. She then looked around at everyone that congratulated her. "Let's all wait... until each person has had an opportunity to participate in tonight's activities..." Everyone looked up in a glare at Mrs. Venable. Probably just wanting to eat and enjoy the delicious treat they are being given. "..then we will feast together like civilized beings." Mallory held onto her apple and walked away from the pot to allow whoever was next to go.

One by one everyone bobbed their head under the water to obtain a delicious treat. "So is this a gift from Michael?" Dinah asked walking up to me with her apple in hand.

"Actually yes it is Mrs. Stevens. They are to thank you for your patients during the process" i said watching at the rest of the slaves who bobbed their heads under the water. They all held the same expression of excitement for the game and also the food that they have probably been denied.

"Also, Everyone is wondering if any news about the chosen people will be released tonight?" She pried.

"Mrs. Montgomery it is your turn to bob!"  Timothy yelled waving me toward the pot. floating around where three apples that pretty much smiled at me. I knew i couldn't eat the apple and i sure as hell wasn't letting it anywhere near my mouth.

Reaching down i grabbed one of the apples in my hand and pulled it up to my face to inspect it. "I cant bob for one, but i will grab one. Thank you" i said when i looked back at Timothy and Emily. They both smiled at me holding the apple between them just waiting to take that first bite.

Then I walked over to the exit of the room and stood their so Venable and Mead could not see me. "We give thanks to the Co-operative for this blessed fruit and the bounties they have bestowed upon us." Everyone around me did a little cheers in my direction except for Mallory who avoided me all together.
