"Is that who has been talking to me?"
"I can't say, having no knowledge of the Shadow Court. I wouldn't expect the former king still lived, because revolts tend to be... messy. So, it could be someone who is sympathetic to his cause. To why he was overturned. Someone asking for help to stop this new king before they destroy everything about faerie. At this point, there simply isn't enough information."
"So, whatever happened to Cora's friend?"
"She thinks he went home. He never said he was leaving, but..." Naiel shrugged.
Something bothered Eve. Something he said earlier. "Naiel..." How to ask this question without sounding like a wistful child. "You said that Shadow Fae rarely come here."
He nodded. "Very rare."
She swallowed the sudden pounding in her heart. "Could..." She straightened her back. "Could this person be my father?"
"I can't say. Faerie moves in mysterious and while I don't think it likely, I can't say."

Thoughts raced through her mind at the possibility that someone might have spoken to the man who sired her. Well, helped. She still couldn't wrap her mind around that biology lesson. What else was different about the reproductive aspects about the Fae. She made a mental note to ask Cora, if they had some down time, about it. Not that she was going to have a child anytime soon, but she felt as if that was something she should know. Something she would have known if not for that stupid scroll.
She was getting distracted, letting those thoughts take her away from the other thing she wanted to talk to her about.
She was right. With their discussion, even as tired as she was, there would be no sleep for her. But, she could kiss Alex awake and he could sooth those thoughts.
This trip was going to take the last bit of her strength, but it would be so worth it.
She eased his door open, closing it softly behind her. With her magic, she was able to see. She turned and found Alex watching her, arm behind his head and she couldn't stop herself. His name was whispered as she rushed to him. He sat up in time for her to tackle him, his laughter both making her smile and shiver. His lips covered her and he lay back pulling her over him, her hair falling like a curtain, surrounding them, blocking out the rest of the world.
He lay still as she moved down his throat, grinning as he swallowed against her tongue. She kept moving, trailing kisses down his chest and his hands cupped the side of her face. She glanced up at his half closed eyes and grinned. Her teeth nipped at a small tight nipple and his fingers twitched against her skin.
"I've missed you, surfer boy."
"I've missed you too, Red."
She closed her eyes at the tenderness in his voice and and his nickname for her. She ran her tongue down a tight set of abs, feeling them flex against her hands as she kept him laying back. She wasn't done with him by a long shot. The sheet did nothing to hide his...pleasure... at seeing her and she slowly pulled the fabric away, grinning as he cursed at the sensation. Then there he was and her eyes feasted.
A flick of her tongue over the shaft had him sucking in a deep breath. A swirl made his hips twitch the she couldn't play with him anymore. Wrapping her lips around his width, she made love to him, his sounds of pleasure stroking her own. The man that she thought she would never touch again. Slowly she moved over him, taking him inside as far as she could ,over and over and his fingers brushed her hair back and she met eyes burning with desire. Burning for her.
