Jughead sits alone at the social pariah table once again, sure Kevin Keller is his friend, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have other friends that he would rather eat lunch with. He's aware of Veronica and Betty's existence, but just like everyone else they refuse to view him any other way than the moody outcast.
That's when they locked eyes for a moment.
Jughead, now aware of Archie's staring, gives the boy a small smile, and what Archie doesn't even think is real...a wink. It flusters Archie at first making him sputter and almost choke on his tuna melt, but then he shakes his head refusing to believe what he just saw and focuses back on his team, ignoring Jughead's existence once more. Typical.
The two polar opposite boys go straight home after school, both separate ways because Jughead lives on the Southside of Riverdale, Archie on the Northside. Archie bursts through his lovely house door and rushes to get ready.

Archie showers and brushes his teeth, actually putting effort in his appearance. He sighs as he runs his hands through his hair while stepping out of the shower with just a towel around his waist. He glances out his window at Elizabeth Cooper, his next door neighbor basically ever since he could talk. Betty was a Rivervixen so that meant Archie could hang out with her all the time and it wouldn't look weird to his bulldog teammates. Anyway, Betty appeared to be getting ready for a date aswell, The redhead wasn't surprised, Betty was gorgeous. The scarlet hue preferred dark hair, but she was still stunning. He had been asked on multiple occasions if he was dating and or liked her, obviously not, Archie has never felt anything like that with his best friend or anyone for that matter.
Archie wiped his forehead with his towel then went downstairs after getting dressed. He went to grab an apple and bumped into his dad.
"Where are you going tonight son? You haven't dressed up like that in a while.." Fred, Archie's dad questioned with curiosity as he gestured to his son's outfit. The strawberry headed boy knew exactly the last time he dressed up like this...He coughed and brought himself back to the present and he tapped his foot on the cold tile floor.
"Out with a friend, Reggie's idea..heh" Archie explained rather faster than meant. He quickly took a bite of his apple and turned to walk back to his room.
"That's nice to hear, be careful. Okay?" The boy's father says, putting a hand on Archie's shoulder.
"Yeah dad, I will' The son promises as he pulls his dad into a hug and goes back upstairs to play video games.
Jughead comes back inside from taking out the trash and sighs disappointingly at the sight before him, stray alcohol bottles litter the trailer floor like snow. He cleans up slightly and lays a blanket over his blacked out father who fell asleep on the couch the night before. He puts an aspirin and water where he can reach then goes back to his shared room with his sister.
"Jelly?" Jughead calls out only to find his little sister doing homework while listening to music. He walks over to her and lifts off her headphones, one handedly with ease. Which makes his sister look over her shoulder at him like he just killed someone.
"Give that back you dork!' JB whines as she tries to grab the headphones from her brothers hand above her.
"Ah Ah Ah, where are your manners Jelly?" Her raven brother hums sarcastically as he throws the headphones over his shoulder and picks her up over his shoulder.
"It's JB, you elf..put me down!" Jellybean yells, hitting her brothers back. Not before he drops her on her bed and starts attacking her with tickles though.
"Juggggieeeeee! Stoppp it!!!" JB laughs, tears in her eyes. She squirms trying to free herself from her brothers grasp.
"Who's the best brother ever!!!?" Jughead laughs triumphantly, tickling his sisters sides more.
"Definitely not youuuu!" Jellybean says sarcastically while sticking her tongue at her older sibling, but immediately regretting it as he tickles her harder.
"Who is??" Jughead chuckles as he loosens his grip just a bit and adjusts his hat, pushing his hair back a bit.
"Youuuuu!" Jelly practically shrieks, making a mock disgusted face while she says it.
"That's right," Jug says sarcastically as he gets up and brushes himself off, suddenly remember his promise to Kevin, "Jelly!!!! Can you help me with something?" Jughead asks in a singsong voice.

"There!" The midnight hue's little sister exclaims, admiring her work
"Thanks Jelly, I've never been on a real date before..I wouldn't know how to dress." Jug states truthfully.
"No problem baby bro" Jellybean says hugging her brother, smoothing out his outfit.
"Wait! Aren't I older than you?! I'm not a baby!" Jughead exclaims with fake offense, but there's still a bit of a pout behind it.
"Shhhhhhh, that's exactly what a baby would say.." JB whispers with a slight snicker deep in her voice.
"Hmph." Jughead pouts once more before grabbing his umbrella and heading towards the front door of the trailer.
"Call me if you need anything, and be home by 11!" Jellybean says strictly as she opens the door for her dark haired brother.
"Ya know you're not my mom, right?" Jughead snorts and quickly covers his mouth, clearly embarrassed by the action.
"Well, someone's gotta be responsible bro.." Jellybean laughs sadly, gesturing to their snoring dad on the couch. Jughead just nods in response and exits the beaten down trailer, just as he starts to climb onto his bike he gets for being the newspaper boy around town, his sister calls after him..
"Use protection!"
