Chapter 9: Thank You... ?

I sat down on my bed. You know, it's more quite here from what I remembered.
I'm curious, are people still looking for me? Has my father's company gone down yet? I have many questions, but none of them are being answered at this moment.

My room never had windows, I could barely see the room, it was only lit from the light behind the closed bedroom door.

"It's Halloween. A holiday to scare people. I should give my father a good scare before I leave again" I muttered to myself

But I wonder were he is?
Maybe I should check his room first, then next his study....

I teleport to my father's room.

He wasn't there, but I knew who was.
My mother. Lucky she was sleeping.

I walk towards her, it's been so long since I saw her face.
A month and a few days, that's how long I was away from her. Though, the last time I saw her face was.... shoot, it's been too long... I don't remember really.

I sat on the bed beside her.

"I wish you could remember me, you know?" I mumbled

I brushed a lock of hair out of the way of her face.

"I wish you could remember your own daughter" I muttered

"Though, this might be for the best.... Why does it still pain me to..." I trailed off

I felt my face heating up and my eyes started to fill up with tears.

"I miss you, you know that right? I want you to remember my name, I want you to hug me in an embrace. Like you did all those years ago..." I said through sobs

I felt a hand on my wrist.
My eyes widen as I saw my mother awake.

"Why are you here...." My mother said

"I- I'm sorry... I just wanted to visit for one last time" I made an excuse

"That doesn't explain why you are here in me and my husbands room. Are you my husbands concubine?" My mother hissed

"No! Never!, he's my--" I cut myself off

She'll get the wrong idea if I say that she's my father. She'll think that my father's cheating on her... Or maybe she will accuse me of lying.

"Just get out of here, and never come back! The first time I saw you, I knew you were trouble!" My mother shouted

"Can I just... ask one request before I leave?" I muttered

"What is it? You want money? Well, i'm not giving you any! Not to a pest like you" My mother asked, clearly pissed off

"It's a weird request... But, can I hug you?" I asked

"Why would you want a hug?" My mother scoffed

"You won't believe me if I tell you why. Just please, can you let me? Just this once" I muttered

My mother sighed before nodding. She sat up and waited pliantly. I was beyond happy.

I rushing into her arms. She was shocked at first, but she just awkwardly hugged me back.

It was nice to feel her embrace again.

I began crying again.

"W-woah, hey! Don't sob over me, you'll get my sleepwear soaked" My mother said

"I'm sorry... But it's nice to feel your embrace again" I whispered

"What do you mean again? I never hugged you" My mother said sternly
