Silently you stood in front of each other. "I apologize for the inconveniences." Light started and stepped closer to you. "No one expect for that guard knows that I am here right now..." He took a quick look at the door that was behind him before he went on: "Misa told me about the subject of your meeting." He started and expected you to explain. "If we would have met somewhere else, I could have shown 'it' to you..." You pointed out, but remembered that it was you who let Light choose the time and place that he desired. It looked like you being behind bars was the best option for him. "Also, how can I be sure that I can trust you now?" You were sceptical and very doubtful. "I'm in custody. How should I know whether you are here to talk to me about what Misa told you or if you are lying to me trying to get a confession from me???" You went on. "Show me that I can trust you!" You requested in a strong tone.

Light only reached into the back of his shirt and pulled a black notebook from below it. He then reached into his right pocket and got out a pen. "I'm Kira and this is my death note." He started and handed you the note. "This is my note. You can check that it's not the same as the one that the taskforce had." He said and you opened it. The names on the first page were indeed different than the ones from the other note. And this death note had two less rules. You quickly browsed to the last page and felt eased, when you couldn't find your name on it. You still knew that this could change at any moment. After you gave the note back to Light, he went on: "I'm going to destine that the guard leaves the key at the office and disappears, just like I did with Naomi Misora..." he confessed quietly, almost whispering. You swallowed and made clear what he meant by that: "You are going to kill him because he is the only one who knows that you came to talk to me..." Light opened the note at an empty page and you felt the urge to stop him from killing another innocent soul. But that would only ruin L's plan. You couldn't risk that. 'Stay quiet, (Your Real Name)...' you told yourself as you watched him start writing. '...If L's plan goes well, Kira should go under. And that depends on you... That's the real goal. No more killing after this. Please don'r ruin this, (Your Real Name)...' You tried to convince yourself to stay quiet and felt your hands starting to shake. You hid them behind your back and with a cold face expression you continued to talk to Light: "... And you are telling me all this because I might be a Kira. But in case it turns out that I'm not, you can just kill me as well and no one will know that it was you, because no one saw you coming in here." "Yes." he shortly replied and looked up to you once he was done writing.

You stared at the note in Lights hands that was still open.

He didn't close it yet.

And the pen was still in his hands.

There was another moment of silence until you decided to interrupt it: "Did you... kill L...?" You started. "No." He explained. "Did... Misa?" You questioned again. "No." He replied. It didn't seem like Light was here to talk. He was here to listen. So you decided to give him something he could listen to: "When I figured out that Hideki was in the taskforce working with L, I wanted to get closer to him in order to join the taskforce and kill L. I didn't know that he was, in fact, L. This is how I planned to get your attention or help you, Kira." You started. "As you know, I do have a death note, but I'm not owning it anymore. It's back with the shinigami but my shinigami is loyal. I can use it whenever I desire." You explained. You tried to say things that held details about the death note or death note user that only those who owned one could know. "Also... I know that two rules of the death note that is with the taskforce are fake..." You added. Light only scratched his head while listening to you. "So you do own a death note." He concluded. "Yes." You replied shortly.

You knew it wasn't the time to offer your help and death note to him yet. It would seem... fake. You had to convince him to really trust you first.

"When the SPK called and N knew right away that you were a fake L, I felt that we were in danger. Well, L died, but not really... N really reminded me of him. I wanted to get closer to that N and make him trust me. I planned to get closer to him to find out about what he and his team were planning and if I ever got the chance, I would have gotten rid of him as well. Hence, my betrayal to the Japanese taskforce, so it would look more real." You explained. Light didn't want to comment on anythings, that's why you just continued talking: "N suspects you of being Kira. I told him that I have the same thoughts, that's why I wanted to conduct the same experiments of the death note rules with his organization so we can double check the rules to know that they are really true and have not been manipulated. With my own note, I planned to manipulate the secret experiments. This would have gone well unless N planned to do experiments without my knowledge and figured out that I betrayed him..."

"The SPK is gone now..." Light brought out and you widened your eyes. "WHAT??" You were surprised. "How did you do that so quick??" You wondered. "N is still alive. Like L he had no name that I could find, but I killed all the other members of the SPK. On his own he won't be able to get in my way, though." He explained and you faked relief.

"You see... I can get by on my own." He started. "I can get rid of all problems that come my way. I don't put myself in danger, but do you know who does?" He questioned and looked you deep in the eye. You knew this wasn't go well. "Who?" you questioned to make him continue talking. "You. Misa. Any other death note owner who isn't careful and will expose our secrets." He answered. "I don't need you-" he added but stopped all of a sudden. "... On second thought..." He thought for a moment and looked back at you. "...How willing are you to make the dream of a new better world come true?" He curiously asked you.

Not at all.

That would have been your answer.

But he seemed to have thought of something you could do for him. And since he was asking how willing you were to work for his goal, it was certainly a huge deal. Maybe a deal that would cost your life...

"I'm willing to do anything... except for dying." You answered him. "You can have my death note, I don't care as long as it helps you and I stay alive." You added and hoped that you wanting to stay alive wasn't a problem for him.'Maybe I should have kept that part secret from him. What if he sees me as worthless now and decides to just kill me?' You feared and impatiently waited for Lights reply while your heart started to beat fast.
