"I get the lesson," he huffed, walking a bit faster. "Respect your elders or else suffer the consequences. Boy, you guys are laying it on thick."
The old master chuckled, shaking his head. "Perhaps you are only hearing what you need to hear."
But Jay had stopped listening—and walking. They were at the front entrance to the junkyard, but something felt... off. Bad.
"What is it?" Nya whispered, biting her lip.
"It's quiet," he responded. His eyes scanned the terrain. "My family's never quiet." Pulling on his hood, Jay raced into the trash deposit. His friends followed suit, careful and ready to fight.
Heart racing, the ninja of lightning looked around before his gaze fell upon a rusted fridge at the bottom of a trash stack. His legs couldn't move fast enough as he ran at top speed to the metal box, kicking off the barrier and swinging it open. Inside were his parents, chained up and struggling with tape over their mouths.
Out of the corner of his eye, Wu saw a small shadow watching. They tensed before darting away.
"What happened? Who did this?" Jay snarled, ripping the tape carefully off of his mother's face.
Edna smiled up weakly at him, sharp teeth poking out. "Sssweetheart, you came!"
Jay paled before turning to his father and taking off the tape. "Oh, you gotta get out of here. You sssshouldn't have come! It's the sssnakes!"
"The bite of the Fangpyre! Once they sink their teeth, their venom can turn anything into a serpent. It's only a matter of time before the full transformation is complete," Wu said, furrowing his eyebrows as the couple jumped from the fridge.
A wrecking machine came around the corner, hissing. The ninja slowly turned to face a small group of Fangpyre—and a wrecking ball with a face.
Cole whipped out his scythe, saying, "Uh, is that wrecking ball staring at me?"
Said wrecking ball abruptly swung towards them at top speed, a ball of pure metal. "Duck!" Jay shouted, pushing his parents out of the way before the wrecking ball came crashing to the ground.
Ed groaned before grinning at Jay. "Thanksss, sssson."
The other ninja had their eyes somewhere else—especially Wu. "Lloyd! (Y/N)!"
The kids were standing on a pile of trash, looking over their enemies. "Hello, uncle," the older twin laughed.
(Y/N) popped a red lollipop out of their mouth, grinning. "Looks like we have double family reunion. Glad you brought those pajama men along." Their (E/C) eyes glittered maliciously, and even from a distance the sensei could see the crimson swirling inside.
"We could use some help taking out the trash," Lloyd cackled as the Fangpyre general crept up beside them.
Nya pressed her lips together, remarking, "If we want to turn your parents back, we need the antivenom in the staff."
The wrecking ball had returned, swinging heavily on its chain. Cole noticed before shouting, "Second dose, to the dirt!"
As it plummeted to the floor, a huge plume of dust filled the air. As it cleared the snakes regrouped, hissing loudly. "Easier said than done, sis," Kai said crossly, hoisting his golden weapon onto his shoulders. "We're a bit outnumbered."
"Nobody messes with my family," Jay snarled, raising his Nunchucks of Lightning. Pounding the floor, he sent snakes flying before spinning into three more, shouting, "Ninja go!"
