"Brain freeze!" I exclaimed then I squeezed my eyes shut before I curled into a ball on the bed, leaving the precious ice cream tub right beside me.
As if I needed any more pain, perfect.
a few seconds later, I had already recovered. I started on my ice cream once again, but this time I made the spoonfuls a little bit smaller.
Okay, maybe just not too much smaller.

"Hey! you were cheating!" Martina yelled before she threw a pillow to hit my head.
"No, I was letting Justice take it's place in the game," I tried to justify my cheating.
Pfft, as if I would cheat.
We were now sitting on pillows on the floor, playing cards.
I looked at the clock. It was almost 9 PM. It's so amazing how fast time passes when you're with your friends. It's not necessary that you're doing something crazy or really fun. Sometimes, just being with some certain people, makes you have a great time. Regardless of what you're doing.
I also got to know Stephanie better, she was a beautiful soul. I really still couldn't wrap my head around how much she had gone through. She was pregnant at 16, and her family made her move away even after she'd lost the baby.
The story sounded like it was some novel or movie. Though it was real. She really cared for her boyfriend. She tried her best to find a way to not let him mourn when she leaves. So, when she got the chance to do so, she did. He did assume things, and she did nothing about it. But her story wasn't the only thing that was nagging me at the moment.
No, it wasn't my period.
Jason.
Jason was the father of her dead kid, and he was the one who had accused her of cheating on him. Yes, they did a mistake. But that didn't mean that she should have moved away. She was the reason why Jason was scared of getting hurt. And he was the reason why she was scared of everyone and everything. They both had hurt each other in a way.
My phone buzzed, snapping me out of my trance. I picked it up and unlocked the screen to find a text.
From:Unknown
The most unexpected people can be hiding a lot. Watch who you barely know. And watch who you know the most. -9:12 PM
I read the text over and over, but I still couldn't figure out what it was supposed to mean. My blood froze when I saw the number of the sender.
It was the creepy texter.
I gulped nervously as the truth of what that was about hit me like a train.
It was about this person who was trying to kill me.
I couldn't help but feel terrified. I didn't want any of that. What did I even do to deserve all of this? I was just a plain high school-er who was going to fail maths this year.
My mind went back to the memory if that day in the alley. Who was this person? And was he really trying to kill me? Or was it just a game?
Sometimes my mind took me to places where I believed that maybe it was all a prank to try and mess with my head.
