You missed the look of hurt that flashed across the mob bosses' face as he took in your words.

"You should eat." He said. "You're not yourself when you're hungry."

You rolled your eyes, grabbing a spoon.

"Does this look like a Snickers commercial to you?" You snapped. "Me being hungry has nothing to do with the way I'm speaking to you now."

He let out a heavy sigh at your words, grabbing a bowl of his own from the cupboard.

"Always so angry." He muttered, grabbing the Lucky Charms and pouring some into his bowl.

You raised an eyebrow as you took another bite of your cereal, resting your chin in your hand.

"Of course I'm angry." You deadpanned. "I don't want to be here."

Namjoon hummed in what seemed to be acknowledgement, pouring milk into his cereal-filled bowl.

"I have my reasons for keeping you here." He stated nonchalantly.

Your eyebrows furrowed in annoyance at his words, eyes shooting up to meet his.

"Reasons?" You spat. "What logical reason could there be for you to force me away from my life? From all the people I care about?"

Namjoon seemed unaffected by your small outburst, his hand raising as he took a bite from his own bowl.

"The world is a dangerous place." He explained. "I took you away from the danger-"

"Oh please," You scoffed, angrily chewing. "You've placed me in more danger than I've ever been in. Blowing up a house? Injecting me with a virus? Putting me at the same table as a known killer? Why is this place any better than the world you took me from?"

He shrugged.

"Because I'm here to protect you."

You let out an awestruck chuckle, running a hand through your hair as you continued eating.

"Has it ever occurred to you that I'm not happy here?" You asked softly.

Namjoon froze for a brief moment.

"Anything you could ever want is on this island." He stated. "And if you wish for something else...I can find a way to get it here-"

"That's not what I mean." You interrupted. "I know how many priceless things are just laying around this place. I'm aware of how much money you've poured into buying me all of these things...But have you ever thought-even for a second- that I may not want them?"

You watched as the dirty-blond man furrowed his eye brows, eyes moving to yours slowly.

"Why wouldn't you want them?" He inquired. "The things I have given you are of the highest quality."

You shook your head.

"I don't care." You stated. "None of those things matter to me. I want to speak with someone who doesn't address me as "ma'am" all the time. I want to be able to go out and dance in the rain beneath the lights of the city. I want people to look at me like I'm crazy every time I listen to music on the bus. I want a normal life."

You didn't know why, but for some reason...You weren't angry in this moment.

Normally, when you spoke to Namjoon about your desire to leave, it would make you infuriated and you would have to kick something in order to feel better...but now, you felt like you were explaining it to a child.

You felt like Namjoon genuinely didn't understand why you would want to leave...

For the first time, Namjoon seemed to be listening to you...genuinely listening and taking your words into consideration.

"Why on earth would you want any of that?" He wondered aloud.

You munched on your cereal.

"It's hard to explain." You said. "There's just something amusing about making strangers uncomfortable."

Namjoon let out a laugh, dimples coming into your view as he covered his mouth shyly.

"I'm sure it is."

You bit your lip in hesitation as a thought popped into your mind, hands grasping the side of your bowl gently.

"I-I want to see Louis."

Namjoon's laughter slowly died down, his dimples disappearing beneath his fallen expression.

You tensed up at his sudden change, mentally preparing your argument in case you were turned down.

"Alright."

"I knew you'd say n-Wait what?"

You blinked in surprise as the man before you gulped down the remainder of his milk, a satisfied smile appearing on his face.

"I'll allow you to see him, if it will make you happy."

You leaned back in your chair, eyes narrowing on the man before you as you crossed your arms.

"I'm not gonna have sex with you." You deadpanned.

Namjoon raised an eyebrow, smile widening.

"I will allow you to see him." He said. "No sex required."

You had to stop yourself from smiling, making sure you didn't show a single sign of weakness.

There had to be a catch.

There was always a catch with this guy.

"However,"

There it is.

"I do not do things without some kind of payment method."

You rolled your eyes.

"And that would be?"

Namjoon offered you a smile, hands motioning out to the lucky charm box that sat on the table.

"I want this again," He said softly. "I-I want to be able to talk like this again...over a bowl of cereal."

You couldn't stop the small crack of a smile that formed on your face, quickly pushing back any emotion.

"That's it?" You asked. "Really? No secret catches I should know about?"

He shook his head.

"This is the first time you haven't screamed at me." He stated. "You've told me what's bothering you...and I feel like I can build from that...I want you to be happy here...even though you think I'm a tyrant...I just want you to be happy."

You kept your mouth shut, not wanting to cause an argument on this unusually peaceful encounter.

You nodded your head slowly.

"Alright." You started. "Next time I have a problem, I'll tell you about it."

He laughed.

"Over a bowl of cereal?"

You nodded.

"Over a bowl of cereal."
