"I suppose that's all it is Lora, an idea, a thought. I guess you're just lucky that your boyfriend is such a stud." Belial mused,
"I suppose you're right. Have you ever thought about something like that?"
He shook his head, "I can't say that I have. Maye I would, in another lifetime, if I thought it would genuinley help my situation."
"I wonder when they will stop. The attacks I mean,"
"When their leader is dead I would suppose." Belial suggested, "I don't think they would stop otherwise."
"I suppose you're right." I sighed. "I wish I was a wolf, it would make this so much easier."
"You don't wat to be a wolf Elora," Belial interuptted, stoping me in my tracks, "The wolves are another group of people. They're the calmest savages you'll ever meet. Being a wolf won't change anything, and you'll make the biggest difference in society as yourself. Not as a werewolf, not even as Queen, but Elora Reed. A human from Garment 2."
I rolled my eyes, "We know that isn't true."
Bel smirked, "Only if you say it isn't. You'd be surprised by how much a regualr human in power could do. People like me, we don't have any thing, just the experience of working at a castle. You'll be appointed Queen within the next few months, but you will always be a human. They can't change you in any way."
I suppose he wasn't wrong, they couldn't. But I knew in my heart that I didn't truly want to be a wolf, I only would to make things easier. Easier for the rule and easier for Maddox.
"You know, I was told that you couldn't stand a wolf, let alone your mate. I was wondering, what happeed? What changed in you mind? They didn't think you would accept him for much longer then it actually took you." Belial asked carefully, trying not to set me off.
I thought for a moment, "I actually tried. And I was willing to try. We set up boundries and we took things careful and slow. Maddox didn't overstep, and I didn't assume that I was ok when I wasn't. And it wasn't just Maddox, it was everybody. These things aren't done alone."
He tilted his head, "So your not scared of them? SOmeone could shift in front of you and you wouldn't so much as flinch?"
I shrugged, "I suppose, though I haven't tried. If you don't count the wolves that came out when I was talking to the man from the organisation. However, I didn't see them shift, they were already in wolf form when they came out."
"Maybe that's something you should do Lora, I can't imagine it would be a bad thing." Belial suggested, "It's something that could be used against you,"
"I doubt I would ever be in a situation where that would happen,"
Bel's face didn't change, his golden eyes glistening. "Just saying,"
We stared at each other for a moment, his feline, mischevious gaze meeting my harsh brown eyes.
"Why are you here?" I finally asked, "This is the third day in a row, we're not close. I want to know your reasons."
He pouted, "I thought we were friends! Is it a crime to want to get to know you a little better?"
"In this situation? Yes." I said earnestly, hoping he got my drift.
Belial shrugged, "I felt bad for you Lora, being up here all alone. I haven't had any shifts, so I thought I might as well occupy myself."
I looked up to the clock hanging on the wall, "I think you should go-"
As if someone had been listening in to our conversation, a sharp knock on the door rung through the room,
My head darted to Belial as I stood up, "Come out the same way you got in, don't come back any time soon. Not if you want to stay alive,"
