"Sorry, did I disturb you?" You sweat dropped as it flicked its blueish tail lazily. "Did you sleep well?"

Blinking innocently, its ruby eyes disappeared under its makeshift nest as it hid again. You scratched your cheek, "Right, I don't think you can talk..."

Feeling rejected, you slid your closet door close, leaving it a crack open again.

Just like you stated in your letter, it's been a few days since the incident. It was a bit of a tall order to hide it and sneak in at the same time. Especially when Granny watched you inch across the living room suspiciously. When you brought it to your room, you cleaned it up and fed it whatever you could squirrel away from meals.

Josuke also said that he would come over during the weekend. And when you asked why...

"Huh? This Saturday?" You had glanced up from your bento. The two of you hung out on the rooftop together, Tomoyo out of the picture because of class duties that day.

"Yeah, if you don't mind!" The much taller teen had been leaning over the railing, arms folded as he gazed down at the sports field. "I just thought catching up would be fun."

"Uh huh..." You had popped an egg roll into your mouth with averted eyes.

Catching up? There's not much that I'd like to share, though... You sighed, looking over at the alarm
clock on your desk. Almost afternoon, it was eleven in the morning.

You approached your windows and opened them, letting the cool spring breeze fill your room. Today was a clear day, no clouds in sight and the sun shone over Morioh radiantly. A sparrow flew past, and you watched its wings flap rapidly before glancing down.

Below was a figure hunched over some crops, a wide straw hat on their head. You giggled and called out cheekily, "I heard you need my help?"

The hat shifted and you met your Granny's warm eyes. She let go of the radish in her gloved hands to wave at you. "Be a dear and come down here! The ¹daikons are ready to be harvested!"

"Okay, just gimme a second!"

The white fluffy creature watched as you hurried past the closet multiple times before closing the door behind you. As you hurried downstairs, you greeted Tomoyo who was laying in bed sleepily.

Granny's house has been around for generations, having been renovated a few times over the years. It was located in Jōzenji Road, among the few rare villas in the north.

Originally, Morioh was occupied with many villas, under the ownership of the bold samurai. They were eventually ruined because of the new era transition, but your ancestors had free hold.

The perimeter was lined with stone walls and thick hedges, with a green gate blocking off unwanted visitors. Beige outer walls topped with a brick red roof, the once traditional Japanese house had been modernised over the years.

Flowering berry bushes lined the walls in the front yard whilst tall, sturdy fruit trees lurched over the pale stone walls. In the backyard was Granny's treasured vegetable garden, a wide expanse of land reserved for her produce. Completed with a ²sōzu, the device has been in the garden since day one.

You slipped on your outdoor sandals and hurried over to the grown up by the veggie patch. Squatting slowly, you placed your hands on your knees and grinned.

"Are we having daikon for lunch?" Your question made the woman beside you turn slowly.

Her once beautiful dark hair had turned white over the years. The mushroom puff of a bun was pinned up with an ornament. Deep wrinkles stretched across her freckle spotted face, her bushy eyebrows raised as she told you, "Actually, I'm gifting ³Mariya some."
