Build Me Up

Chapter 1

I looked towards where Clyde was sitting. He always sat with Token and Craig. Token was real kind and Craig was, well Craig. I choose to believe almost everyone is good and they care about at least one other person. Craig cares about his friends, whether or not he wants to admit it. He said something to make Clyde smile, and I knew I was right. Craig was trying to make Clyde forgot about Bebe, and Token caught on. Soon they were laughing.

I smiled down at my food. Maybe that's what I should do. Make people happy when they feel down. Or help those who need it. If I can't be happy, I will make those around me happy even without them knowing it was me.

Lunch ended, and I shared the next class with Tweek. It was Home ec. The teacher looked in a bad mood, so I hope she'd just let us make something easy and work with our partners. But alas, she did not.

"Okay class, today we make cupcakes, but you get new partners." Ms. Choise said. "Alright, Token and Clyde. Bebe and Red. Tweek and Craig. Wendy and Cartman. I'll be nice and say, Kyle and Stan. Butters and Kenny..." I didn't listen to the other partner's names. I had to be with Kenny? Well, at least he's nice. If I was with Cartman, I'd probably cry. I heard Eric mutter something about this class being for pussies, and heard a gah so I looked over to Tweek. He was pulling on his hair and had wide eyes. I was sat next to him because we were partners before. I patted his shoulder.

"Don't worry Tweek. He may seem to mean but I believe he is actually pretty caring to his friends." I whispered this and tried to calm Tweek down. His shoulders slumped and he let go of his hair, meaning this had worked a little.

We went our separate ways and I walked to where Kenny was. The teacher gave us the 2nd station. Kenny looked at me and I smiled, trying my best to not be awkward. "Hey, Kenny." He smiled back.

"Hi.. Okay, so we need 1/3 of a cup of flour, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup of sugar, 2 large eggs, etc." I got all the ingredients as he preheated the oven, got the cupcake pan, and put the cupcake liners into the pan. I measured the ingredients and put the dry ingredients in a bowl and mixed them. I added the sugar and butter, then the eggs, milk, and vanilla. I mixed this, and after Kenny started to put the batter into the cupcake liners. I made the frosting while he did this. We put the cupcakes in the oven for around 15 minutes. We didn't talk that much and I listened to a few songs.

Kenny nudged me, "Can I listen?" I gave him an earbud, and he put it in his ear. I Can't Decide by Scissor Sisters started playing. He looked a little shocked. "Hey, I like this song. What other singers do you like?"

I rubbed my knuckles together nervously, "I like Panic at the Disco, Cavetown, Conan Gray, The Driver Era, the Artics Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, um mxmtoon, Abba, the Beatles, Imagine Dragons, MCR, Queen, and a bunch of others. Sometimes it's random I guess." (You're welcome lol)

Kenny grinned. "I like a few of those too. I don't know Cavetown, mxmtoon, or The Driver Era, and I haven't listened to Conan Gray. I like your taste though. I'll listen to them. I listen to Eminem a lot."

It was pretty silent after that. We were still listening to my playlist as I heard the timer go off. I took my earbuds out and quickly went to the oven. Putting on oven mitts, I took out the cupcakes and after they cooled off Kenny used one of those piping bags to frost them. I put sprinkles on the cupcakes and they were finished.

"We're a pretty good team, huh?" Kenny asked. I stared proudly at our cupcakes.

A wide smile appeared on my face as I spoke, "Yeah, we are."

"Ah, too bright!" Kenny shielded himself from me and I laughed.

Both Kenny and I decided to clean up our station. I looked over to Tweek to see how he was doing. Craig wasn't smiling like normal and Tweek was twitching. Craig took out their cupcakes and Tweek held the piping bag, shaking. Craig asked him if Tweek wanted him to do it, and Tweek only nodded.
