As soon as I had said that, I felt the tension in his body release whilst he let out some sort of breath. "Well, that is certainly good to hear! It's too high to have hit any artery."

I retrieved my fingers from him. "So—"

"Come, now," he spoke, a suddenly urgency apparent in his voice as he began moving once more. "We have no time to waste in this matter!"

By then, I had managed to calm down quite a bit, so it was easier to get some proper breaths out of me. Following after him, I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Am I still going to do anything?"

"Of course," 049 replied, "Though it will be quite the more simple task than removing a bullet."

The both of us slicked into the first room we could, and I had shut the door behind us due to the fact that I was in the last one in. "But couldn't you do it? I... I—"

"I could, yes," he started, pivoting around to face me before lowering down onto the floor. "Though given its location, you would have an easier time doing it than I would. Now, come closer and next to me."

My nerves were wracked in each passing second. Despite that, I bent down and hunkered my body a bit as I inched closer to him. "What... Do I...?" I trailed off.

It didn't seem necessary to the SCP for me to have even asked. "Take both hands and apply as much pressure as you can to both sides for me."

At first, I had lifted both of my hands to do as he had instructed, yet halted midway. "B-But won't that hurt? A lot?"

"Such a thing is nugatory, [Name]," he nearly hummed as his own hand lowered from his shoulder. He, with some strain due to the wound, moved his hands down to the bag strapped at side. Being this close to him, I was able to notice his breathing was rather sporadic in nature. "Please do as you're on instructed. We have very little time in this trying matter."

Nodding frantically, I took no hesitation in pressing both hands against the wounds after that, tensing a bit at the warm sensation of the blood. 049 had sucked in a breath underneath my hands, his fingers furling a bit along with it.

Nevertheless, he pressed on seconds after, rummaging through the unknown contents of his bag as I continued to push my hands against him as much as I could. Soon, he was pulling out various items.

"Forgive me for not being up to times with your current medical practices, but I reassure you my method should work just as well," he spoke a little breathy. The anomaly shifted his eyes to me. "Unfortunately, we do not have everything at hand for it, but that doesn't mean we can't make do."

I wasn't sure how to feel about any of that.

"Now, do take this cloth and keep applying pressure."

Eyes averting from what I was doing and down to his hand, he was clutching a heap of fabric. Nodding a bit, I took it with one hand. Placing it on his shoulder to where it covered both sides, I then continued to push my hands against him.

My mind whirled. What if I messed everything up? I bit my bottom lip. What if one of those things we were missing was really important, and he wasn't telling me? I didn't even know if I was applying enough pressure or not. He would tell me if I wasn't, right? Why wouldn't he?

Lightly shaking my head, I looked up at him, seeing he had already been watching me. "How long do I keep this up?"

"We'll see in a mere minute... You're easing the bleeding is all." He as awfully calm, contrary to the current situation and what I would've expected from someone who had just been shot. Though, considering it was him, and he knew how to fix it, I supposed I shouldn't have been surprised.
