?S1 E7: Tick Tock (1)?

"I'm sure they're on the search for Fangblades too," you swiftly cut in. "If it's such a big deal then that mean's they heard about it too, right?"

Cole eyed both of you suspiciously. "Uh, is everything all right?"

Kai nervously laughed, "Yeah, yeah. Why wouldn't it be?"

"One hundred percent. We're not hiding anything," Nya added.

The fire ninja nodded frantically, waiting for you to put in your two cents. When you said nothing, he looked down to glare at you—but you weren't there. For a second Kai began to panic until he realized that you'd just walked off a little with Zane.

You were pointing out all of the different spots that you could hang the posters. "Ooh, you could hang one on the pole, on the window, you could do one on the wall..."

As Zane listened to you, he grinned to himself under his hood. So pure. Before he made a move to put the poster up, however, he felt something. A signal. He looked up at something without you noticing as you kept talking. "Hey, weirdo," a man said angrily as some of the papers slipped out of Zane's arms. "You're making a mess of my store front."

No reaction. But he got your attention. "Yoo-hoo!" The man shouted in his ear, "You got a problem?"

Stomping over, you felt your blood run cold. "Don't talk to him like that," you snarled, clenching your fists. The man took a step back before his face turned angry again.

"Looks like there's two weirdos that need to be taught manners," he grumbled, advancing. You tightened your fists harder.

Kai saw the whole scene unfold and quickly dashed over, saying, "I'm sorry, sir. Sometimes he's in another world. And they sometimes get a bit snappish over little matters."

You glared at him hard. "He's littering all over the place," the storekeeper complained.

I really just want to punch him right now. Hard and straight in the nose.

"We'll pick it up. So sorry," Cole interjected, bending down to pick a piece up. The man just stormed away.

You watched Zane as he slowly walked away in a sort of trance. "Zane, what's the deal?" Jay asked to no one in particular. The white ninja was staring out into the horizon, and you caught sight of—

"The Falcon," you whispered to yourself. You'd only seen him once, and that was back in the forest. He was something of a mystery to you, just like Zane. The two really suited each other.

Jay gasped as he raced around the corner. "Ah! It's the Falcon! Oh my gosh. Every time we follow it, it leads us to good fortune."

Kai turned to his sister before following you. "Head back to the Bounty and wait 'till you hear from us."

"But where are you going?"

"We're gonna follow the bird," Kai said as if it was the most normal thing in the world. "Who knows, it could lead us to the first Fangblade."

Nya sighed. Of course her brother would do something like that. Didn't he realize yet that she could protect herself and the people around her?

And so the ninja went chasing after the bird, sometimes taking turns carrying you when your legs got really tired. You went all the way from the small town to the desert. The desert!

Last time I was here, I freed the Serpentine.

Shaking the thoughts from your head, you continued forth. The desert soon dissolved into the tundra, and you pulled your (F/C) hoodie closer around you. Kai held you more during that branch of the journey since his body temperature was a lot higher.
