You then made your way into the second bedroom in the house. Whenever you would come and stay with your dad over the summer, you would be in the additional bedroom. You turned his old bedroom into your own, and now whenever your mom came to visit you, she would stay in that room, so you made sure to keep it clean. It was a simple bedroom with ocean blue walls and a bright orange rug, which sat over the plain light brown carpet. You had picked out the rug when you were ten. Your mom and dad had separated when you were about seven, but they stayed good friends for your benefit. You sighed contently at the sight of your old room. You never had any reason to go into it since your dad died, so the door usually stayed shut. You took the sheets off the bed and tossed them outside the room. You then went into the small closet and got clean sheets to put on the bed after spraying the mattress. You then used your hip to push the small desk in the room against the other wall, being careful not to knock the PC on it over. You were super into games as a kid, so your dad bought you the computer one summer as a gift. He wouldn't let you be on it all night and would make you leave the house with him whenever he got the chance. Although, you still got your fair share of gaming in. Once you got into high school, you kind of grew out of it, but the computer was still in great condition.
You pushed the large window open, grabbing the rug from the floor and slinging it over the side of the windowsill to beat the dust and some dirt out of it. You pulled it back in halfway, leaving it hanging while you run the vacuum over the carpet. You then put the rug back in place to vacuum it too. After that was done, you cleaned the windows and then pulled the white curtains back over them. You even decided to dust the desk and your old PC as well. Once that room was cleaned, you shut the door behind you, making your way downstairs with the broom, sweeping as you went. You glanced into the living room, seeing Jasper still glued to the TV. You shook your head, smiling as you made your way into the kitchen first. You washed all the dishes in the sink, putting them on the drying rack, and then moved on to wiping down the counters.
The next thing to tackle was the refrigerator. You pulled the door to it open, squatting down. You began to pull out old food and unknown substances inside containers, dumping the contents into the trashcan and then putting the containers into the soapy sink water. You wiped the shelves inside the fridge down next, standing up to look in the freezer. There wasn't much in there besides frozen fruits and vegetables and a couple of containers of (f/i). You opened the different tubs of the sweet treat, tossing the ones that were empty. You swept the floor next, pushing the dust and trash, including the loose tiles from your kitchen floor into the dustpan, and shook it into the garbage. Next, you mopped, making sure not to slip and fall. You stood back and sighed, feeling proud of yourself. It was about twenty minutes after twelve, and the only thing left was the living room. You put the broom away, leaving the mop and bucket outside on the porch to dry. "Hey, CJ," you said as you closed the backdoor behind you. She turned her head, looking at you with her amber eyes. "Could you get up? I need to finish cleaning." She looked around for a second, then back at you.
"What do you need to clean, human? This area seems fine to me." You laughed, grabbing the vacuum and plugging it in.
"Yeah, I know, but I've already cleaned the rest of the house and now I want to do the living room." Jasper stood to her feet, stretching. She then walked towards you, putting her index finger under your chin, and pushing your mouth closed. Your face flushed in embarrassment. I didn't even realize my mouth was open... Jasper chuckled.
"You seemed surprised."
"I-I guess I'm just not used to the height difference yet." The gem laughed, her shoulders bouncing.
"I do not think you will ever get used to the height difference."
"How tall are you anyway?" you asked as you walked around her, picking your very smushed bean bag from off of the floor and putting it on the couch.
