Everyone turns back around to where Honey Lemon is and walk over to where she's standing as she shoves open the door. The sight that welcomed them next left them flabbergasted. It looked to be a large and completely destroyed testing ground.
"What do you think it is, genius?" Go Go asks Hiro. He only shakes his head in confusion taking a look around as well. "I-I don't know."
[F/N] looks over to the large and unfinished project on the testing floor, noticing the same bird symbol on it. "Guys, look," She says, pointing over to it. "The bird."
Everyone else takes notice and back away from the rail. Honey Lemon calls Hiro's name while pointing over to the press box. Everyone slowly makes their way inside and view over all of equipment before finally landing their sights on a large computer screen with the same bird symbol on it in black and red. Hiro looks down at the keys and presses a button, showing off only one set of security footage of Krei and a group of scientists.
"Krei," Hiro mutters, looking back down at the keyboard and reversing the whole thing, showing more and more footage.
He stops the footage right as Krei started to talk, "That's right. We were asked to do the impossible. That's what we did. We reinvented the very concept of transportation," He tells the press, showing off the large portals at the bottom of the testing grounds. "Friends, I present project Silent Sparrow."
The portals flash on and the General stares in awe. Krei lets a smirk display on his features as he turns to him. "General, may I?" He gestures to the General's hat, who takes it off and hands it over.
Krei, then, throws it into the portal. A worker with the other portal catches the hat from the other side and shows it off.
"Whoa. Magic hat," Fred stupidly comments.
The worker throws it back into his portal and it flies out through the other one, back into Krei's grasp. The General and the others gasp in surprise.
"Teleportation. The transport of matter instantaneously through space. Not science fiction anymore."
Krei hands the General his hat back before leading them back to the press box. "Now, we didn't spend billions of tax dollars to teleport hats. Ladies and gentlemen, you're here to witness history," Krei says, leaning into one of the mics. "Ready to go for a ride, Abigail?"
A young lady dressed in completely white gear hops into one of the pods, pushing a few buttons here and there to prepare for her journey into the unknown. "We invited all these people. Might as well give 'em a show."
The countdown begins as Abigail's capsule readies in position, facing one of the portals directly. But one of the scientists studying the portals taps Krei, saying, "Uh, sir, we've picked up a slight irregularity in the magnetic containment field."
Krei frowns deeply and sits up straight when the General asks if there's a problem.
"No. No problem. It's well within parameters. Let's move forward."
The scientist hesitates for a moment before preceding. The pod goes flying forward into the portal, but something goes horribly wrong. Alarms flash in the press box and everyone starts to freak out.
"Field breach! Abort! We've lost all contact with the pod!"
The other portal is overrun and ends up exploding.
Honey Lemon gasps in shock. "Oh, no."
"It's breaking up!"
"The pilot is gone! Portal two is down!"
