His response was just as hushed. "Indeed."
His fingers flexed against me a bit as I offered a small smile. More silence overcame us as I sat there and admired him. Every little detail was traced over with my eyes, drawing in that faint, leathery scent of him with each intake of air.
I was sure I was much more unpleasant to take in with my own smell of blood and dirt, along with the miserable severely dishevelled look at me. Thinking of that only reminded me of what he had said in the bathroom when the both of us were in front of the mirror. That smile on my face only widened. My appearance wasn't important to him.
"Yeah... We should get going," I finally broke the silence. 049 offered a few tiny nods to that before I began to climb off of him and back onto my feet. I was starting to settle from what had just happened, though the brief sereneness of it was still lingering over me.
Approaching the door, I took a glance behind me to see him following. Opening it up, I stepped out into the hall, no longer being drowsy from the sleep. Physically, I had felt much better as well compared to the state I was in before I had passed out. It was nice not having my bones ache at a constant.
"What had happened to you, before you had killed that man?" He inquired as he took step beside me as we walked.
It had taken me a second to realise he meant Dr. Miles by 'that man.' "I... Was taken into some weird dimension or something." Just recalling it and that gurgled laugh sent an uneasiness over me. By that point, I wasn't as freaked out, but the thing was still scary to me in its own sense. "It toyed with me for I don't know how long before dumping me back at my office." A light sigh escaped me and I glanced over at him. He was staring down at me with an attentive look in his bright blue eyes, hands clasped together behind him. "I yelled at it, and then it took me again. Except there was this weird voice that spoke to me about... Nightmares..." A chill went down my spine as I recalled the words. I had forgotten all about them up until that point.
"Nightmares?"
My brows furrowed a bit, the both of us turning a corner. "It said I looked afraid, and then told me not to be."
"Were you?" Concern was riddling his voice.
"I don't even remember being conscious." Thinking over what had happened, I only just realised how strange the scenario had been. "It said something about being in a dream, and then—"
I froze in place at the sight of a certain sign overhead a door. 049 ceased movements with me, following my gaze. My eyes widened, a hand slipping into my pocket.
"Oh... Ehm... My dear, what's an Omega Warhead?"
Approaching the door, I whisked the Level 5 keycard I had snagged earlier out from my pocket. The anomaly tailed after me, watching everything I was doing. I turned to him, settling the expression on my face as I gave a slight smirk. "It's just what we need." What my past self needed. I considered it much more important at the moment then that weird thing about nightmares.
"But what would it be, exactly?" He pressed as I held up the card to the scanner.
Hearing the beeping of confirmation, the door hissed open right afterwards. I stepped inside as I spoke, doing my best to contain myself. "Do you know what an explosive is?"
"Er... Like the black powder?" The doctor tried with a slight tilt of his head, a faint hint of confusion mixed in with his curiousness.
I rose a questioning brow at him over my shoulder as I approached the elevator in the tiny room. Pressing the button, I gave a slight huff. I would've asked him if he meant gunpowder, but it wasn't important. "...Sure, I guess. Imagine an explosive, but it's really, really big when it goes off."
