(Y/n)'s POV
You groaned, pulling the cover over your head as someone aggressively shook your shoulder. "(Y/n), wake up." You whined again, rolling over in the comfort of your sheets.
"Leave me alone," you mumbled, allowing yourself to drift off again. You heard a sigh and then the sound of feet retreating. Heh, heh...works every time... You then were suddenly picked up, and you let out a shrill scream, flailing your arms and legs. You looked around, seeing that you were at least eight feet off the ground. You screamed again, clinging to the arm that was holding you. "J-Jasper?!" The large gem chuckled, looking up at you. Her hand was resting on your stomach, her fingers barely curled around your waist. She was holding you up in the air with one arm, smirking at you.
"Are you awake now, brat?" You whimpered, wrapping your legs around her arm. You didn't like heights in the slightest.
"Y-Yes! Just put me down!" Jasper chuckled again, lowering you slowly, but then straightened her arm back out quickly. You wailed loudly, beating at her shoulder. "Cut it out, Jasper! I don't like heights," you whined. She let out a hearty laugh as she lowered you onto her shoulder. Your face was buried in her hair, and you coughed, blowing it out of your face as you lay across her shoulder, irritated. "Can you put me down now, brute?"
"No. Not until you see what I helped Daia make for breakfast."
"Daia?" you asked, an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, that's what she wanted me to call her," Jasper hummed, walking to the bathroom. You scoffed, smirking.
"I see you and my mother have gotten...close." Jasper sat you on the counter, her face sporting a large blush.
"Now what is that supposed to mean, runt?!" You giggled at her attempt to act tough even though she was obviously embarrassed.
"Oh, nothing," you said, grabbing your towel from the nearby rack. You slid off of the counter in front of Jasper, turning to wet your towel in the sink. You washed your face, squeezing the excess water out and hanging the towel back up. Jasper stood behind you with her arms crossed, a slight blush across her nose and cheeks. "Do you have to stand behind me like a guard dog?" you laughed as you looked at her through the mirror. Jasper raised an eyebrow.
"What's a dog?"
"It's an animal that humans usually keep as pets—oh shit, I forgot to call, Steven!" You ran into the room for your phone, about to dial his number. "Fuck, um...Jasper! Come up with a name for our cat!"
"Cat?" she asked, walking out of the bathroom.
"The kitten! I promised Steven that I would come up with a name and let him know." Jasper shrugged, and you rolled your eyes. Think (y/n), think... She's grey with stripes, like a tabby cat. Maybe...Tiger? No, that's cliché. Um... You glanced up at Jasper, who was staring at you with a confused expression on her face. You grinned. "What about Grey Jasper?" You laughed at your own joke, slapping your knee. "Nah, I'm just joking. What about Storm?" Jasper thought for a moment, shrugging and then nodding at the name you came up with.
"Yeah, that's fine, I guess." You gave a single nod, opening your phone and clicking on Steven's contact. It rang twice, and he answered on the third ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Steven! How's my favorite boy doing?" He giggled.
"I'm doing great! How about you?"
