"Let me the hell out of here!" he yelled, banging his fists on the door which he had found to be the only way in and out of the library.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," a voice called from behind him. The girl closed the book she had been reading, tucking it under her arm. From there, she stood and approached him. Akio froze as he watched the emotionless girl come closer, stopping once she was right next to him. She reached for his forearm, holding it gently in her weak grasp.
"There is no way out," she told him, holding his gaze with no intention of looking away. Her words seemed to anger the older boy, making him grab onto her roughly by the front of her dress, knocking the book from her grasp. But even though he had acted so suddenly, she didn't even flinch, she remained still whilst continuing to hold eye contact. Clicking his tongue, Akio shoved her away from him, her frail body falling to the ground.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" he yelled, hands clenched tightly into fists. Finally being freed from his grasp, she turned her attention to the book she had dropped, noticing how her bookmark had fallen from its pages. From there, she began searching for the place she had read to last.
"Were you kidnapped?" she asked quietly, her words shocking the boy who stood before her. He hesitated to answer, not knowing whether it was okay to reply to this girl he was obviously uncomfortable with.
"Yeah, I was walking home from school when some guy grabbed me from behind. He tied me up and threw me in the back of his car." Akio then gestured to himself, a fake smile on his face.
"And here I am, trapped in this dumb library with you." She could tell he was being sarcastic and knew that he wasn't in the mood to talk so she decided it would be best to stay quiet. After finally finding her page, she stood with her book, walking past the pissed off boy. He watched her walk away, glaring.
"Why the hell did you ask me that anyway? We're all kidnapped, I know I'm not the only one. Kid's have been going missing all over the town!" he yelled at her. She stopped, clenching her book to her chest.
"The difference between you and me is that I wasn't kidnapped. I wasn't wanted so I was sold. A lighter and half a bottle of cheap alcohol was all I was worth, I wasn't even worth enough to be given a name. I know that there are a lot of things wrong with me and I'm sorry that you're burdened with my company," she called out.
From there she continued walking, disappearing into the rows of shelves. Akio watched her until she was gone from his line of sight, a loud sigh escaping his lips as his body relaxed. He did feel guilty after hearing her story but he still wasn't going to give up on his escape, knowing that sooner or later something bad would happen.
-----------------
Your eyes fluttered open, the sight of Watari in the front seat reminding you that you were still inside the car. It had stopped at a red light, but there was something which drew your attention more than anything, that being the warmth beneath your head. Shifting your gaze to the left, you were met with the sight of the white long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans of the one and only L. It seemed that your head had fallen onto his shoulder while you were sleeping. Lifting your head from his shoulder, you pulled away, feeling a strange hot feeling in your cheeks.
"Sorry, I must've fallen on you while I was sleeping," you excused, keeping your face turned away from him. A small tug on the material covering your upper arm made you turn back and meet his eyes.
"It doesn't bother me if you wish to continue resting," he said, holding your gaze. You were unsure how to respond, not being sure whether he meant using his shoulder or just sleeping in general. But all was confirmed once the detective shifted a little closer to you, leaning his head away slightly to provide more space on his shoulder. Feeling overly drowsy, you took the opportunity and shifted closer to L, resting your head on his shoulder again.
Falling back asleep in a matter of seconds.
Sorry, I haven't updated this story in so long, I've had a lot going on with university. But due to the quarantine, I have a lot more time to write and will try and update as often as I can. I still can't guarantee them but I will try my best.
Anyway, with the chapters, I'm hoping to add some more stuff about Akio because he is somewhat an important character. Also, got some more close time with L. I love writing stuff like this with L and (Y/n) because they're both overly clueless when it comes to their love lives. (Y/n) is a little more aware because she has to play characters that need to know how to act when it comes to love, but I love the idea of her finally coming to understand everything that she's acted out, even minor things like getting flustered or expressing small amounts of affection.
That went on for a while but I promise that I'm done. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and thank you for reading. An extra thank you if you actually read these and stay safe out there, Bye :)
