Chapter 12

"Thank you" Kakashi bowed taking the tray.

"The weather here can sometimes be unpredictable, who knows, in a couple of hours the sun might shine again like it never rained. Although spending a day inside can also be romantic, so you should make the most of it" he smiled one last time before bowing and leaving.

Kakashi left the tray on the table and (Y/n) crawled to it, kneeling across him and pouring herself a cup of the deliciously smelling tea. She let go of a content breath after having tasted the exquisite cinnamon and caramel tea.

"What are you reading?" Kakashi asked after a while, catching (Y/n)'s attention while she was munching on a cookie. She reached her book and turned it around for him to see the cover.

"It's one of the ones we bought together" she said, going back to gnawing the biscuit.

"Is it any good?" he asked again, to which she nodded with a small smile remembering the sweet love scene she just left off before stopping to drink the tea.

"Yup. Besides the drama it also has love of all kinds, and action..." she said the last part blushing slightly as she was referring to the adult love as well "What about you? What were you reading?"

Kakashi did the same gesture that she did and turned his book to her, showing Icha Icha Innocence.

"Oh! That's one of my favorites!" she smiled "It's been a while since I last read it, maybe I'll search for it once we're back" she said now with a thoughtful expression, trying to remember where could she have left it.

Kakashi on the other hand couldn't help but blush a little while he hid a timid smile under his mask, only now remembering how amazing she was for liking these books and actually not being ashamed to admit it. 'Just how much more perfect can she get...?' he thought subconsciously.

Once (Y/n) had finished her tea and cookies she sat back in front of the porch, finishing the chapter she was in while Kakashi took that to his advantage to easily drink his tea. After he was done he cleaned everything up and then thought about sitting back near the table to continue with his reading. But before doing so (Y/n) caught his attention. He saw her sitting normally, but this time she wasn't reading. She had laid her book next to her and now she was deep in thought while looking outside. He approached her and sat beside her. Looking outside too, wondering what was it that had caught her attention like that.

"What is it?" he asked, alternating his gaze between outside and her serene yet focused expression.

"The rain" she answered simply with a faint smile "It's just really relaxing" she added with a soft tone of voice, almost as if she was half asleep "It's as if it could transport you to another dimension, somewhere else. As if it could stop time" she said as she saw the weak flowers being shaken by the raindrops "If you just listen to it" she commanded to him, but Kakashi decided to focus his gaze on her tranquil and joyful expression instead of outside, knowing she was far more interesting than the rain. Especially as he saw that small smile on her that was lately reluctant to go away from his mind "And then close your eyes..." she kept saying, actually thinking he was doing what she was saying "It's really beautiful..." she said, her eyes still closed which made the calming sound of the rain intensify for her.

But he didn't want to lose any detail of her so he kept looking at (Y/n), falling madly in love every second it went away.

"It is" he found himself saying lowly, clearly not referring to the rain. Although (Y/n) didn't know that and only smiled bigger, thinking he actually agreed with her. She then yawned, still reluctant to open her eyes.

"You must think I'm a lazy ass" she said giggling softly.

"I don't" he answered mirroring her soft and serene tone. Or perhaps she was the one mirroring him. Maybe they both just unknowingly blended with each other "I know you're catching with lost sleep. And I'm happy to know that you're comfortable enough with me to rest this much"
