Chapter 1 The tavern?? (march 29)

" you're late again Dolphus" you said

"Ghehsfjshg" he said

" well if there's traffic let us know so we can open later if we need to bah! One day he's gonna get fired" you said

"Umm.. your fearlessness" barley tried to continue as he touched Coreys wing making her flinch

" my brother and I see a map to the Phoenix gem" he said

" oh ah well you've come to the right tavern table 12" she whispered to another elf

" we have the parchment you're looking for right here ta da!" She said revealing a coloring sheet with a phoenix them on it

" oh that's a children's menu" Ian said

"I know isn't it fun they're all based on my own maps um oh! The great manticore send you on your great adventure with a heroes blessing and here are some crayons" she said rushing her sentence and throwing the crayon that Ian

" Umm.. Cory I think he meant the real map" you said

" oh well that's over there" she said pointing at the map on the wall

"This is perfect" he said grabbing the map off the wall

" whoa whoa whoa what are you doing?! You can't take this!"She said protesting against his actions

" we have to" he said protesting back as he pulled the top half of that person off revealing just a blue void

" * gasp*what is that?" She said as Ethan was taking a gander and knocked into the table and fell on the ground

" it's our dad and we have a chance to meet him-" Ian said before barley cut him off

" we can't do that without a Phoenix gem" he tried to negotiate

" no no no no my days of sending people on dangerous quests are over" she said

" what why!?"Barley said baffled

"Heh uh cause they're dangerous" she said

" Corey the karaoke machine is broken again" Emily said

" i'm sorry but you were not getting this map" she said

Then she rushed over to try and fix the karaoke machine

"I-I'm sorry guys but her quests are really dangerous most people have never returned from her quest and others severely injured some paralyzed they are not able move or walk ever again" I  said

" wait Ian what are you doing?" Me and barley said

He walked over to the manticore in front of the karaoke machine as Cory was badly singing trying to fix the karaoke machine

He said " miss Mighty manticore ma'am"

" Buddy what are you doing" barley said forcing a smile on his face

" kid this is not a good time..." she said in a panic trying to fix the karaoke machine as quick as possible

" ugh!i'm giving this place a one star review" A bratty goat girl said

" it's just I've never met my dad and-" he tried to finish before she cut her off and

said " look I'm sorry about that but if you get hurt on one of my quests guess who gets sued and lose her Tavern I can't take that risk know if you'll just excuse me I have important things to do YoU hAuNt My DrEaMs I sEe YoU iN BeTwEeN!" She explained and then Sung horribly

"Ugh! Please we need that map" Ian said

"No! I'm not giving you the map that's it I'm done talking" she whisper yelled

" well I'm not done talking!" Ian said looking like he was about to cry

" whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!" Barley said trying to come Ian down

" you said you can't risk losing this place! Look at That manticore! It looks like she lived to take risks!" Ian yelled at her

I was actually surprised that someone would yell at my aunt I mean she was scary a lion with a razor sharp talons sharp teeth huge wings she can breathe fire and not to mention her scorpion tail

" that manticore didn't have investors to look out for she didn't have payroll to cover she could just fly out the doors whenever she wanted and slay a magna beast!" She said

"Um are you going to fix the machine or not!?" Another bratty girl said

" yeah in a minute!" She said burying her teeth at the girl

"Yeah OK maybe this place isn't as adventurous as it used to be so it isn't filled with the Monster-lee horde to risk life and limb for a taste of excitement" she said looking over at a guy blowing his soup gently

" but so what who said you have to take risks in life to have an adventure!?" She said

" apparently you did" Ian said pointing up at the plaque above the paining that pacifically said

'you have to take risks in life to have an adventure'

" table 32 said their mozzarella sticks were cold" John said Corey blowed fire on them and burnt them to a crisp the guy nervously walked away

"What have I done?" She questioned herself

"Well it's not too late you could just give us the map" Ian said reaching for the map is barley tried to grab him and hold him back

" this place used to be dangerous and wild" she said well in the background eat Ethan was copying her

"I used to be dangerous and wild!" She said making her wings stretch out

" dangerous and wild!" Ethan said once again she turn towards him and let tearing the head off and holding it in front of everybody just like the painting behind her

" i'm living a lie what have I become!" She yelled

Then she burned the mascots head making it melt and then she threw it on a table

" everybody out this tavern being closed due to remodeling!" She said angrily

and then a chain reaction happened the fire from the mascot head caught the streamers on the ceiling on fire making a huge fiery inferno while everyone was escaping

I said " all right let's put some water in her fire"

" sorry the karaoke machine is broken" she said throwing it across the room

I used my water power and got all the water from the tavern trying to put out every last fire but I weren't strong enough The fires just kept growing and growing I got so tired I eventually fell on the floor almost passing out

But before I did someone grab me and put me over there shoulder it was Barley they were almost at the exit of the Tavern on the bottom half of their father fell it got back up but then ran into one of our tables just then a pillar almost fell onto their dad I tried to use my water to hold it in place for a second but then I had to stop but Ian he casted a spell and made it float in the air

barley looked excited before I passed out everything went black...
