"Long time no see, pretty boy!"
Whispy Peach cackled in its high voice before floating back to its owner. Josuke watched as thin threads swirled around your damp figure like a rampant hurricane. Your school uniform's once green thread dyed into white simultaneously as they enveloped your body in a criss-crossing motion. Your clothes had been reformed into a pure white sailor uniform, your bowtie retained its purple colour but was less wet due to the hot air created earlier.
"No time to waste, Josuke." Pitter patter, water dripped from your locks and onto the freshly modified uniform. Your quiet gaze moved from the stiffened cotton to your childhood friend. Josuke's eyes shifted to the silhouetted stand behind her, its eyes glowing as a devious grin etched across its face.
"We have a bastard to catch."
. . .
A dog barked as the blonde walked past a gated villa. He glanced back at the four legged canine, who threw its weight at the steel bars. The gate rattled precariously, scaring the wits out of the high schooler. He hurried away from the yapping creature, who showed nothing but animosity towards the male.
"Dogs are so weird," Tachibana Yukio muttered under his breath. The blonde glanced up at the sky. Having looked over Morioh with its sulky, grey clouds for more than an hour, he raised a threaded brow.
"If I remember correctly, the weather forecast said that a thunderstorm is soon due," He tugged at his uniform sleeve to glance at the watch on his wrist, "Looks like the sky's being a bit odd... Speaking of odd, I wonder how that girl is doing. I sure hope she's alive! If she's dead, that'll cost me and my superiors a lot of complications..."
The image of the girl falling out of the window still burned vividly in his mind. He had never seen anything like it, even after everything he had gone through in the Cardinals. When she plunged into the pool, the sheer terror she felt had prevented her from screaming out, and the memory was so fresh that it almost scared him.
"Now isn't the time," He chastised quietly. Yukio's long, blonde lashes fluttered close, hiding his steel orbs from passersby as he sighed audibly. "I have a job to do."
He retrieved a packet of banana milk from his school bag. After stabbing the aluminium hole with the plastic straw, he sucked in the yellow liquid. He crossed a road or two and finally reached his destination. Pressing the button on the gate intercom, a soft beep drawled before a voice answered.
"Hello, this is the Shinomiya residence," It was a voice of an elderly lady. Briefly taken aback, Yukio plastered his usual smile as he responded in a gentle voice.
"Good afternoon, Miss. I'm from Budoga-Oka High. I'm the Student Council President, Tachibana Yukio. I'm here to see Shinomiya (y/n)."
"Tachibana, you say? Aren't you Mariya's nephew?" The Granny's tone had evident surprise. When Yukio chuckled and confirmed her speculation, the weathered lady hurried out of the house. She unlocked the gate and guided him into the Shinomiya residence. Closing the door behind her, she led him down the hallway and into the living room, where she sat him down politely.
She was a woman of short stature, and she smelled of tea leaves and earth. Her hair was tied in a neat bun, a white and green dragon hung from her hair stick. A few black streaks ran across her nearly entirely white hair, resembling a miniature zebra's crossing. The elderly woman introduced herself as Shinomiya Ryujin, and when she told him to refer to her as 'Granny Ryu', Yukio joked, "Dragon Granny?" The lines on her forehead crinkled as she smirked.
