Keyword is most, because there was this one time when she was in the bathroom during economics. She left saying she had to use the bathroom, but didn't as per usual, and then halfway there she ended up actually having to. And when she was washing her hands, she looked at her reflection in the mirror, eyes immediately making contact with the beautiful green pendant around her neck. The light reflected off of it perfectly and right into her eyes. It started to become too overwhelming.

Her heartbeat increased, and she could feel it all around her body. It wasn't just pounding against her ribs, but her throat, stomach, arms, legs, head— everywhere. Her breaths started getting shorter and raspier, and then her airways slowly started getting clogged. One of her hands grasped the clothing that covered her heart, while the other started rubbing her throat. She slowly moved over to lean against the bathroom wall, the cold, gross, bathroom wall. Her body drifted down to the floor, along with the tears that fell from her eyes. Her fingers slowly grasped the lock of her hair close to her scalp, and it took everything in her not to pull them as hard as she could.

She was too deep into her thoughts to notice or ever hear the two girl coming in. She didn't hear one ask if she was okay, everything muffled from her palms covering her ears. She didn't see the other one kneel down in front of her, her gaze too blurred by the tears. She didn't even feel the same girl rest her hand on her thigh, her pulse coursing through her veins and taking over her entire body.

She didn't notice when the girl told her friend to go get the nurse. She didn't notice the nurse sprinting into the room, making any attempt to calm her down. She didn't notice the crowd of people (even boys) coming into the girls bathroom, all wanting to know what was going on. The last thing that happened before the world went black, was one tall figure bursting through the door.

It was a well known thing that Lucas Martin most certainly wasn't the brightest person at his school. It's a miracle that he's able to stay on the varsity team with a rain like his, but lucky for him, he has good friends. Scooter, his best friend, was always willing to help him with his homework. So he was able to maintain a B average with a few C's here and there. But even with the grades, there was still one thing he was missing— common sense.

But even with common sense like his —or lack thereof— there was still one person that he always knew how to protect. His little sister. The moment that he saw Rick hitting on her on her first day at the school, he knew that there needed to be a separation. He knew that she couldn't be a part of the world that he was in, it just wasn't for her. And although it was the worst thing that he had even done and pained him to the core, he drifted from her. He ruined their relationship to protect her. But he couldn't never tell her that, knowing that she would call him a complete imbecile.

In the end, even if he regretted it with all his heart, he knew he did the right thing. He did the thing to protect his sister, something that he will always do no matter what. Something that he always knew he could do.

Don't get him wrong, he knows that she's strong as hell. She's the bravest and most together person he knew. No one could get to her and break her down, she wouldn't let them do that. He always admired her for that, she never gave into anything and always loved her life how she wanted it. No one had the strength to break her down, not unless she gave them the hammer.

But when he saw her on the ground curled up into a ball, that was the moment that he realized he had failed. It was all his fault. He was the one that left her alone in the world, he was the one that abandoned her. It was all his fault for thinking that she was strong enough on her own in the world— no one is.
