"well tori in japanese means bird. i took japanese freshman year, i was gonna do victoria in latin but that's victory and conqueror. now we wouldn't want that going straight to your head now would we?" he asks.

"no, we wouldn't. i like it though. bird. it's cute and simple."

they stop walking when they get to the entrance of the school. tori see's her mom standing at the jeep, "oh my mom's over there with coffee so i better go before i die from lack of caffeine."

"okay, i'll see you tomorrow bird. oh, and before i forget do you wanna borrow my notes for english?" he asks with a small grin on his face, "i, uh tried to offer them to your sister but she turned me down."

"well, did you offer just the notes or something else to go along with the notes?" she asks him with a good idea of what really happened.

"maybe a uh, little bit of both," he told her.

she laughs at him, "listen to me blondie she's never gonna get with you, she's not that kind of girl. you should spend you time trying one of the other girls. maybe that uh, summer girl, i saw her eyeing you today at lunch."

"well if you say so bird," he says to her while handing the notes over.

she smiles at him, "thank you for the notes, i'll see you tomorrow."

"bright and early!" he says while she walks away to her moms jeep.

when tori gets to the car lorelai gets attacked with a hug, "hi mom!"

"hey, sweet girl did you have a good day!" she asked her.

tori took a deep breath to get ready for what she was going to say, "i had THE best day! it started out a little rough but after english it went up hill. i meet this girl tracy and she's on the cheer team and she got me a tryout on friday. then we sat with her friends and her brother, tristian, at lunch. he gave me the english notes for the test we have on monday!"

"woah, speedy slow down!" lorelai laughs, "and tristian huh? is he cute?"

"well yes, but that doesn't matter. i like brennan. plus i think he's going to be a good friend, rory doesn't like him though so that's unfortunate."

"speaking of rory, here she comes and she does not look happy."

"hey, you," lorelai says as rory walks over to them drops her book bag and hugs her mom.

"so, this whole plaid skirt thing. our idea?" she asks talking about her and tori.

"my day sucked too hun," lorelai said. "so i'm a saving grace and brought us coffee. triple caps, easy foam. if that doesn't work, we'll stick our fingers in a light socket." she goes to pick up the twins book bags, "woah, okay what do they expect you to get smart all in one day?

"oh, they expect a lot of things," tori tells her.

"well, so tell me tell me."

they get into the jeep, tori gets in the front with her mom while rory gets in the back with the book bags, "well, one of the girls already hates me, and all the guys are weird." she says.

"uh weirder then other guys?" lorelai asks.

"yeah they keep calling you mary."

lorelai laughs, "you're kidding me. wow, i can't be they still say that."

rory's confused by this point, "why what does it mean."

tori looks back at her and says, "hun they're saying you're a goody-goody. it's mary as virgin mary."

she looks at her sister shocked, "well they called you mary too but you've kissed a boy before."

"yeah i know that and you guys know that but they don't. that why i told tristian i'll be mary if he'll be my joseph. it shut him up."

"well, what would they have called me if they thought i looked like a slut?"

"uh, well they might of added a magdalene to it." lorelai says as tori laughs.

"wow, biblical insults. man this is an advanced school."

when tori got to the diner her friends were already waiting for her arrival, excited to hear about her first day of school. well 5 out of six were excited about that, there was someone who was just excited about seeing tori after 8 excruciating hours of school with no one amusing.

"hello people who cannot survive without out me!" she says as she bursts into the diner.

"ain't that the truth," brennan says as he stands from the table they were sitting at. he wraps his arms around her waist, picks her up, and spins her around once while she wraps her arms around his neck. luckily luke was upstairs and the dinner was mostly empty, otherwise the news of this happening would spread faster then the news of babette and morey getting a new cat.

"i missed you," he whispered in her ear.

"i missed you too," she whispered back.

"okay, hey! nimrod give her up, i wanna know about her day and more importantly, i wanna know about all the cute rich boys she saw today," amanda told brennan slapping his back.

"haha very funny manda you know she won't tell you," rose laughs, "at least not while the boys are around, that's girl talk. nice uniform by the way. very cute, very cute!"

"thanks rosie," tori told her as she and brennan sit down at the table, "and to answer your question amanda, i had a very good day. at least better then rory. i even got a tryout on friday for the team there. but it'll never compare to the stars hallow team. but enough about school i need coffee and fries!"

caesar who's walking by their table says,
"he's upstairs and i'm on brake."

tori jumps up and says, "i'll be right back!"  she skips up the stairs and knocks on the door to luke's "apartment" as he likes to call it. "oh lucas!" she sings knocking on the door.

"it's open!" he yells.

she walks in and luke looks at her, "what do ya want shorty?"

"i'm hungry and casear won't feed me!" she tells him with puppy dog eyes.

"coffee and chili cheese fries?" he asks already knowing the answer.

she smiles back, "coffee and chili cheese fries!"

"alright let's go kid," luke says setting down his dish towel.
