27. Its not what it seems like

As soon as his eyes landed upon me they went wide, like a deer caught in a headlight.

"April" He whispered.

"Is it true?" I asked him with the courage I had left in me.

"April...." He said again.

Madison now fully acknowledged the fact that I was also there.

"Look who it is Aiden...... " She fumbled. "April!" she said and laughed.

"Is it true?" I asked him again.

"April... I can explain" He said with a sad expression on his face and his eyes looked like he was guilty and sorry? But I don't believe any of it.

I didn't want to believe any of it. Whatever she said.

"Please tell me she is lying Aiden," I said but he just stood there saying nothing. A tear slipped down my face followed by another.

"April please...just let me explain." Aiden took a step toward me.

"Save it," I said and turned away and ran in the other direction. I heard him call my name but I didn't wanna hear it. Not knowing where my feet took me I just ran in whichever direction my feet took me I just had to get away from everything. From Aiden.

When everything became clear, when my emotions were not in control I realized that I was not far from school but far from home.

Taking a long while, I decided to walk back home. I have no idea where my phone is though.

Walking a few miles later I decided to take my heels off. I couldn't keep walking in them. I stopped on the sidewalk to take off my heels when a light flashed in my eyes. I stood up straight to see a car coming my way. I looked at the car when it took a halt in front of me.

It was him.

The guy who asked me to dance with him.

"Need a lift?" He asked me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"Not following you, I promise." He said.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean it in a bad way," I said.

"It's fine. Do you want me to drop you somewhere?" He asked me.

"If you don't mind."

"Hop in." He said.

Getting in the car I told him my address as we drove off.

I was taking off my heels when he spoke "If you don't mind me asking, what were you doing alone on an almost deserted road?"

"Running from people," I said and he looked dead into my eyes like he saw a ghost.

"What!?" He instantly looked at me, concerned.

"Sorry, I was just joking." I looked at his reaction and instantly felt stupid.

"Are you alright?" He asked me.

"Yeah, yeah. I am." I said and turned my face towards the window.

"You sure?" He asked me again.

"Umm-hmm" I just nodded.

When we pulled in front of my house I picked up my heels and got out.

"Thank you," I said.

"No worries. Just next time do not think of taking a walk on a deserted road, I can't save you always." He said.

Save me always? 

I smiled and nodded "Duly noted." I turned to walk back to the house when I remembered that I forgot to ask him his name.

"Wait!" I shouted.

He looked at me. "I don't even know your name!" I said.

He smiled, "I am Caleb."

"Thank you, Caleb," I said and stepped feet back so he could drive off.

As Caleb drove off, I looked in front, on Dawson's porch, where Aiden's car was parked and he was standing against his car with his sleeves rolled up.

As soon as I saw him, everything that happened to me came rushing back. I turned towards my home and started walking as fast as I could. I was able to hear Aiden calling my name but I didn't wanna hear it.

Before I knew it he gripped my upper arm and spun me around.

"Where were you!? I was worried sick!." He said.

"Leave my arm Aiden, right this moment," I said, looking firmly into his eyes and with anger in my voice.

"Who was that guy?" He said to me.

Is he being serious right now? He was practically lying to me to my face and he was worried about who dropped me home!

"Why? Do you wanna lie to his face too?" I yelp at him.

"April, you have to let me explain," he argued.

"Explain what? Your lies? Your immaturity? Or the way you can stoop so low for nothing?" I screamed at him.

"You have all the right to be angry but you have to listen to me." He said.

"I am done listening to liars Aiden, so leave my hand right now!" I yelled the last bit.

His grip was still tight on my arm. "LEAVE. ME. ALONE!" I yelled at him. He just looked at me. He didn't have anything to explain himself. Not a word and that was so clear on his face.

His grip loosened, "I am not going anywhere till you hear me out."

I pull my hand out of his grip and look straight into his eye, "Too bad for you then." With that, I turned around and walked away.

"I will be right here waiting for you, every single day until you hear me out, April!" He said it out loudly for everyone to hear.

My tears flooded my eyes but I stopped. I couldn't cry, not for a liar. I walked faster.

"I am gonna try, every dayin  April! till you fucking hear me out. I am gonna wait for you every day until unless you hear me " He said and before he could say anything else I shut my door.
