The Sign of Three: The End

Start from the beginning

"Do you always carry handcuffs?" Janine leaned towards Sherlock with a grin. You rolled your eyes at her as Sherlock brushed it off with a smirk.

Through an archway in the room you saw Mary walk past, stopping when she spotted John. She smiled walking into the room to join you all. "Come on, quick!" She walked to John's side and he wrapped an arm around her.

"It's not me you should be arresting." Jonathan said lowly. He looked from you to Sherlock with a murderous glare. You chuckled lightly at his words.

"Oh, we don't do any arresting." You told him, unbothered by his intense glare. He was just trying to intimidate you and it wasn't working. He was a man who never sorted out his grief and it drove him to attempt of murder. Grief could do that to a man.

"We just farm that out." Sherlock nodded to Lestrade.

"Sholto, he's the killer, not me. I should have killed him quicker." His smirk grew as he continued to look from you to Sherlock. "I shouldn't have tried to be clever." You laughed at him, he was pathetic.

"You should have driven faster." Sherlock spoke before walking from the room. You grinned at him before following behind Sherlock. Everyone else soon followed afterwards.

All the wedding guests gathered in a circle as John and Mary began their first dance. Everyone's eyes were on the happy couple, but you were watching Sherlock. He stood in the front of the room, playing a beautiful violin piece he'd written for John and Mary. You already knew it back and forth, he'd played it for you multiple times. As Sherlock's piece ended, John dipped down Mary, kissing her. You smiled slightly as everyone began clapping. You clapped along with them, gazing up at Sherlock. You heard Janine literally yelling at Sherlock with a smile as she clapped for him. You felt tired at rolling your eyes at her all day, so you just decided to ignore her. You wouldn't have to deal with her anymore after today. Sherlock carefully placed his violin aside, stepping up to a microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen, just, er, one last thing before the evening begins properly. Apologies for earlier. A crisis arose and was dealt with. More importantly, however, today we saw two people make vows. I've only made one vow in my life, and after tonight I'm not sure if I will again. So, here in front of you all, my second and most possibly last vow. Mary and John: whatever it takes, whatever happens, from now on I swear I will always be there, always, for all three of you." Sherlock looked at John and Mary with a shocked look before he quickly corrected himself. "Er, I'm sorry, I mean, I mean two of you. All two of you. Both of you, in fact. I've just miscounted. Anyway, it's time for dancing. Play the music again please, thank you." Sherlock turned to the DJ who began playing, 'December, 1963 (Oh What A Night)' by Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. "Okay, everybody, just dance. Don't be shy! Dancing, please!" Sherlock gestured for everyone to begin dancing, and they all flooded the dance floor. "Very good!" Sherlock nodded as he jumped down from the stage, approaching John and Mary. You laughed, joining him as he met them in the middle of the dance floor. They looked at Sherlock with slightly worried and confused looks.

"Sorry, that was one more deduction that I was really expecting." He apologized, smiling softly at them.

"'Deduction'?" Mary questioned, not fully understanding.

"Increased appetite, change in taste perception, and you were sick this morning. You assumed it was just wedding nerves. You got angry with me when I mentioned it to you. All the signs are there." He stated.

"'The signs'?" Mary seemed to be catching on, but didn't seem to want to believe it. She needed to hear it with her own ears.

"What Sherlock is trying to say, Mary. Is that you show all the signs... the signs of three." Mary turned to you, her face beaming up at you with a smile.
