I turned and smiled at Felix who stood a few feet away. "Thank you, Felix." I say in which he was already smiling, of course. "Your welcome, Princess Athy." Felix says.
"Do I not get a thank you as well? I was the one who had him make it." Claude says. Was he being serious? He must be never because I don't take him as one who jokes around.
I studied his face carefully to see if there was any sign that he was just messing with me. But as usual his face remain completely emotionless with his eyes as icy as ever.
I sucked in one large breath using all the courage I could muster. "Well, all you did was order Felix to make it. You did nothing else. Maybe if told Felix exactly how to make it with certain flowers and a certain design then maybe you should have earned a thank you because that means you also put in some effort, but I'm sure you only ordered him to make a flower crown then didn't give it another thought till now." I tell Claude trying to match his emotionless face. "Fair enough." He said before taking a sip of his tea.
I also grabbed my tea cup and went to drink it, but as I brought it to my lips and and I was able to smell the tea I stopped. It was the tea Jennette really enjoyed but I didn't like at all. It was very sweet with much flavor. So to me it wasn't like real tea, that is suppose to be warm and calming. Sadly enough though everytime I went to have tea with Jennette this all we drank and so that was how I figured this was her favorite.
"If I were to kill you, I wouldn't do it so cowardly with poison." Claude says seeming to be almost threatening me. I was frozen in place, not knowing what to do. He closed his eyes looking peaceful yet I felt everything but peaceful. He was probably thinking of how he would kill me. "T-that's not it, Your Majesty." I managed to say. Claude opened his eyes and stared at me.
"You don't like that type of tea?" Claude asks me making me relax just a tad. "It's fine." I said before taking just a small sip before placing it back down. This tea was in no way calming.
"Are you telling the truth or what you think I wish to hear again?" He asks me and I felt my cheeks turn pink from the memory. Now he mocks me? I looked and saw that Claude and I were drinking different teas. The tea he was drinking to was one of my favorites also. It was Lippe tea.
"My apologies, Your Majesty. To be honest I really do not like this tea, it doesn't seem like real tea to me with so much sweetness." I say truthfully. "Because it's not real tea and it is utterly revolting." Claude says his face wrinkling with disgust. I was a little suprised to actually see him make another face besides his usual emotionless one or the one that is filled with hatred. His disgust wasn't even towards me which was nice actually. A giggle even escaped my lips.
Claude reached over the table and grabbed my tea cup spilling it on the ground before filling it up with the tea that he was drinking. Thank goodness, I didn't have to drink that tea, if it was actually tea? "This tea isn't one that is supposed to be enjoyed because of its taste." Claude tells me as places my tea cup back down.
I smiled happily with being able to drink one of my favorite teas that I was only able to drink just a few times before because it was hard to get such tea. The reason I was ever able to try it before was thanks to Lucas.
I lifted the teacup to my mouth taking in its delightful fragrance before drinking a bit of it. I smiled at the nice feeling it gave. "You seem to really like this tea." Claude remarked as he watched me. "Of course, it is one of my favorite, because it feels like flowers are blooming inside my mouth." I smiled as I placed my teacup back down.
The atmosphere suddenly changed and I glanced up to see Claude and Felix both giving a strange look. They both seemed dumbfounded. Did I say something wrong?
I opened my mouth to apologize but Felix beat me to it. "Lady Diana enjoyed this tea as well and that is how His Majesty also began to drink it also. When Lady Diana also first tried it she said the same thing as you did Princess." Felix exclaims. He seemed excited as he walked closer.
I said the same thing as my mother? Claude began drinking this tea because my mother enjoyed it too? Felix knows about my mother? He has been by His Majesty's side a lot longer then I thought. Maybe I could ask Felix more about my mother one day. I never have asked Lily because I figured she didn't know much about her. But Felix, he knew her and what she was like.
"Don't speak of things that do not matter." Claude glared at Felix. "You are being to noisy go away." Claude says still glaring at him. I looked at Felix desperately wishing he could hear my pleas that I screamed in my head but Felix just bowed before walking away. Leaving me. Alone with him. That seems to be in a bad mood now.
The tension was even more thick now as it was sufferable almost feeling like you couldn't breathe. Why did I have to say such careless thoughts out loud? It would be best to end this here.
"Your Majesty-" I began but Claude cut me off.
"There's no need to cut this short." Claude says as he spun a small spoon in his tea watching it whirl. He is just tormenting me. I just know it.
"You seem to have gotten thinner and more fatigued since I saw you about a month ago." He commented. Look at yourself! You're no better! "Well nothing has changed recently. I'm still eating and sleeping as much as I usually do." I tell him as I looked around at the garden.
Maybe my mana is becoming unstable once again. But Lucas would've seen that and fixed it if that were the case. Am I really just frail and spending sometime with Jennette is taking this much of a toll on me? That can't be it. It's not like we do anything but sit and have tea. That is so embarrassing if I'm actually am this tired because of that. But it couldn't be.
"We shall do this again. Tomorrow be here at the same time again." Claude says before standing up and leaving me. He didn't turn around to spare me a glance.
I got to do this again?! My body can't handle that! It is to exhausting to be with him especially alone! What is going on through that head of his?
