"No one..." she yelled from the kitchen, then stormed out to meet us in the living room. There was a fire in her eyes and a hand on her hip. "Samuel Hale, did you drive?"
My eyes widened and I smacked him on the arm. "You don't have your license?"
His mom gasped in horror. "You drove Ary's car? Without a license?" Smoke was practically coming out of her ears. Before he could defend himself, she dragged him upstairs by the ear. I smirked, enjoying his misery.
I can't believe he drove my car without a license!
"Sara you better get your ass upstairs so I can beat both of you," my aunt screamed from upstairs. My cousin paled and gave me a worried look before running up.
Justin and I looked at each other before laughing. They were like our siblings, so it was okay to laugh at their misery.
"Movie night?" I suggested. He nodded, following me to the theater. I texted in our group chat, letting them know we were watching something if they wanted to join. Hopefully, their moods wouldn't be too off. We all knew how getting yelled at felt, especially in front of other people.
We started the first Iron Man movie and they came in around thirty minutes after. They casually sat down as if their mother didn't just yell their ears off, and I respected it. I kept an eye on Sara though. She was sensitive and I was expecting her to cry.
Luckily, she didn't.
"Ugh, we need snacks. What do you guys want?" I asked after we finished the first one. The plan was to finish all three, and then squeeze in the Avengers movies after if we had time.
"Popcorn."
"Chips and coke."
"Dr. Pepper and Pumpkin pie."
I groaned. Of course, everyone wanted their own things. "Actually, even grab your own snacks because I don't have that many hands," I pointed out. They all groaned and I stubbornly held my ground. I wasn't about to be pushed around by everyone, especially not when I was the second oldest in the room.
We regrouped after we all got our snacks and relaxed in our recliners. We watched the second movie in complete silence.
Afterward, it was dinner time. We all gathered at the dining room table this time. Luckily it was big enough to actually fit all of us. Sometimes I didn't understand why we had such a huge table if we were a small family. It's not like we didn't have the one in the formal dining room for visitors.
"Ary, we haven't spent much time with you guys. You and Justin should come visit us in Manhattan for winter break! It would be splendid and I'd love to spend Christmas with you," my grandma cooed as she passed me the rolls.
Of course, they only invited us two. They knew our parents were slight workaholics and probably wouldn't take off work for a vacation. As for our cousins, they visited them a lot more.
"That sounds great, mom! The kids would probably have a great time, considering we stayed in Michigan this holiday." My mom grinned, not sensing the general opinion of her children. Even Justin looked unenthused about the idea. Could you blame us? New York is fun. New York with your grandparents is the opposite, especially when all they want to do is sit around all day.
"Maybe for a few days." I gave her a small smile to satisfy them. They both nodded but I could tell they really wanted this trip to happen.
Meaning it would definitely happen.
Tonight's dinner was a mix of leftover turkey and steak, a super weird combination. I opted for the beef considering I couldn't eat another bite of that damned turkey. Hopefully we'd be out of leftovers soon.
