CHAPTER 3 - The Usual

Start from the beginning

"Kakyoin!" you called out cheerfully, slowing your pace as you met up with your friend.

"Morning, y/n," he smiled.

The warmth of his smile made butterflies fill in your stomach as you tried your best to hide your racing heartbeat.

"Shall we?" he motioned forward.

"We shall," you mock saluted, earning a soft laugh from him.

The two of you walked the rest of the way to school together, partially in silence and partially in conversation. It was obvious the two of you were still tired when Kakyoin yawned, which made you yawn, which then caused a chain of yawns between the two of you. You both laughed, making fun of the other for falling victim to the previous yawn. Your shoulder brushed against Kakyoin's as you walked, and although he didn't seem to notice you took a step away, hoping he would be just as oblivious to the blush on your cheeks as he was your touch.

"Oh by the way," you turned to face the boy walking besides you. "Sorry about yesterday..." you started to mumble half way through, forcing Kakyoin to lean closer to you. The sudden gap closing made your heart skip a bit, and you choked back a gasp.

"What was that?"

"Sorry about yesterday," you mumbled again, looking at the ground to avoid Kakyoin's gaze.

"I heard you the first time," he chuckled. "Just wanted to hear the almighty y/n actually apologize for once."

"Yah!" you punched him lightly in the arm, but the force was still enough to earn a slight grimace from him. You shot him a worried look, knowing your fake punches would usually have no effect on him. You skipped over the possibility of him faking the reaction, feeling as though the flash of pain on his face was too real to be an act.

"I'm okay, don't worry," he assured you, noticing your expression of worry.

The nagging feeling you had yesterday that he was hiding something from you slowly started to creep up again, but you forced yourself to push it to the back of your mind. You allowed a small smile to overcome your features, convincing yourself you were contempt with just having Kakyoin around again. You made yourself believe that whatever seemed off was just from jet lag, and if it was really that important he would've told you when he first came home.

You finally arrived at school, stopping by yours and Kakyoin's locker before walking together to homeroom. The rest of your school day went by as it always had before Kakyoin disappeared, and for that you were thankful. He was there again to apologize for you cursing out the boys that approached you, and he was able to hold you back from starting fights with any of the girls who hated you simply because the boys they liked only payed attention to you.

Even lunch was peaceful, despite you spending most of the time constantly glancing around to see if Kakyoin's new friend would show up. You remembered from before your official meeting him that he seemed to skip class a lot, sometimes going as far as to simply not show up at all. You came to the conclusion that today was one of those days, otherwise he probably would have been trailing your friend the whole day. Jotaro seemed like the kind of guy that would show up in any class he wanted, whether it was part of his actual schedule or not. You wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly showed up in your math class or gym class just to hover around Kakyoin the whole time.

You were almost able to call your day perfect, and had it not been for someone pushing you and causing you to suddenly collide with Jotaro who had been absent all day it would have been. It didn't help that your fan club of boys only shoved you further into the delinquent, who turned his head to look at you with the most pissed off expression you've ever seen on anyone. You tried to convey with your eyes that it wasn't your fault your body was being pressed against his, but he didn't seem to get the message.

Kakyoin poked his head out from behind the taller boy, raising an eyebrow as he too, seemed to fail to understand that you were not touching Jotaro by choice. You were about to explain what was happening when you felt someone grab at the soft flesh of your leg, right under your butt. Whoever it was that did it had gone out of their way to stick their hand under your skirt, something none of the boys had ever dared do before. You assumed they had taken advantage of the odd situation to cop a feel. Kakyoin could tell something was wrong when your mouth opened in shock and your face became a beet red.

You had dealt with almost every possible situation from boys before, and you were always able to hold your ground against them. Although your threats often fell upon deaf ears, none of them had ever gone so far as to reach under your skirt. You had no idea how to react in this situation, contemplating  whether you should turn around and scream or curl up in  a ball and hide. Kakyoin was still confused on what had happened, but Jotaro had been glaring at you the whole time, so he saw everything.

He spun around in a swift motion, wrapping a protective arm around your shoulders and using the other to pull your skirt down. The dramatic height difference left him slightly crouched, his mouth now level with your ear.

"Listen, I really don't give a damn about you, or any other stupid bitch in this school to be exact. I'm only here to make sure Noriaki stays safe," Jotaro whispered in your ear, his voice menacing yet laced with something that made the hair on the back of your neck stand on edge. "But if there's one thing I hate more than screaming girls, it's people who think they can do whatever they want those who are weaker than them."

He tossed you behind him, your small form crashing into Kakyoin who tried his best to keep you from falling. You were frozen from the sudden interaction with Jotaro, unable to spit out words of disagreeal to him calling you weak.

"Listen here you bastards," Jotaro's loud voice addressed the group of boys that had been swarming around you. "I don't give two shits who any of you are, but if you have the audacity to force yourself onto a woman without their permission, you are the scum of the earth. Now I don't know which one of you fuckers thought it would be okay for you to grope this stupid bitch, but if you value having functioning hands you better hope it never happens again. Now get the hell out of here!"

Jotaro's demanding tone left no room for argumentation. Had it been anyone that just yelled at the crowd, they most likely would have been ignored. No one wanted to start a fight with the so called "bad boy" of the school though, so the group of boys dispersed without much fight. You were still nuzzled in Kakyoin's arms when Jotaro turned to face you again. The fact that you couldn't read the emotion in his eyes made you feel uneasy, and you instinctively leaned closer into your friend. Kakyoin picked up on your distress, allowing you to remain close to him as he stroked your hair softly. You clutched the green fabric of his uniform with one hand, using the other to gently touch the part of you that had been violated. You shivered as the feeling of some random person's hand made itself apparent in your mind again.

You were so close to your life going back to the usual way it always had. So close....

I honestly have no idea where the end of this came from, but as it just spilled out as i was writing and honestly i kinda vibe with it. At least something actually happened to progress the story cause honestly i was starting to feel a bit lost with this
