At the bottom of your screen, you see, from left to right, a plus sign, an 'I' in a circle, a triangle, three connected dots, three dots stacked vertically and the text 'Edit'.
Every icon, except for the plus sign and the three stacked dots, is greyish in colour, and when you click on them, nothing happens. These icons are used for editing or sharing artworks, or downloading a movie of the progress, and can only be used for a specific artwork.
When you click on the plus sign, this screen opens:

You can import a picture, choose preset sizes, or select your own. I have the size of a 抖阴社区 cover, 1024x1600, a bigger version of 512x800, currently as custom size. You can easily adjust the sizes, by dragging the sliders, or clicking on the numbers on the top (highlighted in the picture below), and typing your preferred dimensions.

You click on OK, and a blank canvas appears with the dimensions you just selected.

HOW TO USE THE TOOLS IN IBISPAINT
At the bottom of your screen, you see, from left to right, a brush/eraser switching icon. When you click on it, you switch between eraser and brush, depending on which one you're using, or between any other thing and the brush. Next to that, you see a brush, and if you click on it, a menu opens, I'll later explain the different options in the menu shown below.[photo]
